Health - 13 March 2007

When I'm in bed with my eyes closed I see random, almost green flashes of light, but when I open my eyes there's nothing. I know I'm hallucinating because when I see it no one else does. I'm not taking any medications, nor am I doing drugs or drinking so it's not coming from those things. What I was wondering is if there is a scientific or medical reason to this or if anyone else happens to have this occur to them?

These scales were bought in spain as I live here all the manual is in french, Italian and Every Hindu Punjabi Swhaili you can mention but not in English. So I have these scales and not a clue how to work them. I have tried some web sites but no luck there either.

I'm 25 years old (be 26 in a few days) , have no children, not yet married but plan to marry my current boyfriend. I'm wondering what some of the pro's and con's of gettting a tubal ligation might be. We have both talked about this issue and neither one of us wants children, I'd rather enjoy him than have to worry about taking care of children, and he feels the same way. Anyone have any con's of a tubal ligation , I've done a little research myself but wondering if I'm missing anything.

My younger sister in law has been having terrible stomach pains, and the Drs. have been drawing blood, running tests and couldn't come up with anything for the longest time. Finally, a Nurse called my Mother in law today and told her that she has "Sand" in her Liver. My mother in law asked how she could have gotten Sand in her Liver? and the Nurse told her that it could be from her diet. She has to go in for more testing. She never asked what that intales when you have Sand in your liver? Does anyone out there know what that means? How does it happen and what has to be done? Weird......really weird. I never heard of that. I just wonder if any of you have?!?!

If you have an arm amputated and it was not from a disease, it was just from it being detatched from an accident, are you allowed to bring it home and eat it? They throw it away anyways I believe, so why not just let me have it to eat so I can say I ate my own arm?

A young man i've known since childhood - he is now in his early 20s - is now mentally unstable but i'm not sure if it's that or an act. His folks say that he is on meds and is going for counselling - the route apparently of the problem is chemical/electrial imbalances in the brain (?). I've been affected by his behaviour (despite his folks saying he has improved somewhat from the earlier days) in that he has called me once speaking in jumpy sentences, non sensical and distrubingly with some sexual innuendo. I put the phone down. He also attempted to see me - Coming to my place and i refused to see him - telling him to go home. I have advised his folks who say i have done the right thing. I think he knows what he is doing in that he says things like "i don't want to offend you". When I said go home - he did. His folks seem to think he's on the mend - i have my doubts. Is it schizo? If i come face to face with him - what should i do? Tks in advance.

Why is it so many young (and not so young) people today still have unprotected sex? Why is it when you ask they say things like "i am on the pill" or "i am on the shot". Do you not realize that you can get more than just pregnant when you have sex? you can bring home things like Herpes, STD, HIV.
Come on people. Why are you not using condems everytime you have sex, there is no excuse? (not intended for people married of course, but still you never know what your partner does). Just because someone "looks" clean or says they are doesnt make it so. You cannot tell by outside looks whether someone has something. I always hear about women who dont know who the father of their baby is, hmmmm, that many sex partners and nere a condom in sight? Unacceptable!

I am in the mist of finding the right med for anxiety, and panic attacks. In the mean time i have anxiety everyday and worry constantly. i dont want to drive bc i get short of breath and ill just be hanging around my house and i get all scared thinking what if somthing happens to me and i pass out and my son will be all alone and nobody will ever find me. im a single mom and live alone with my son. I get short of breath all the time. The dr says its anxiety, i had pulmonary teat done, chest x-ray, head ct, and last yr an ekg and echo. so im healthy. the doc put me on zoloft and i just started it two days ago. i hate living my life like this.
