Pros - Getting your tubes tied is very effective birth control (although I personally know one failed case - my friend became pregnant at 43), you will not be taking hormones
Cons - Not easily reversible; even though it is minor, it is still surgery and there are risks of infection and other complications. It is expensive.
Vasectomy (male surgical sterilization), is cheaper, safer, and more easily reversible. I don't think most reputable doctors will do tubal ligation on a 26 year old, even if you are certain now you won't have kids. They will most likely recommend something less permanent until you are older. If you can't or don't like birth control pills, try Nuva Ring or IUD maybe?

in my opinion, as a guy, i would like to raise a family. i like to see my kids grow up and mature into adults. but hey, everyone is different, everyone wants something different in life.
remember though, that when you tie your tubes, you will not be able to conceive anymore. if you want to untie them, should the option be ever available (who knows what medicine and surgery can do nowadays), the chances of getting pregnant will be harder if you had not tied your tubes in the first place.
if you intend to get married but have no kids, thats fine as well. but the marraige, in stark terms, will dull after a while if there are no kids around to make some noise. remember, it will be a very quiet home, and seeing each other everyday is going to tax you unless you have some children to take some time alone with them.
i don't see much of a problem here, but psychologically speaking, the marraige can last, possibly. i use the word possibly as it takes a lot of effort to see each other in the face everyday and say that he is going to be the only one i see every morning. not the kids because i got my tubes tied and i can't have any.
think it through wisely. i suggest not to think of the parts where you don't want to have kids, but more to the part where how the marraige will last ultimately. adoption centers will always be there though, but knowing semi-consciously that that child is not of your flesh and blood will be something else entirely.

OK, first off will they even do it since you are so young??? My sister wanted to get hers done but they told her she wasn't old enough.
I was 25 when I got the Essure Device because they said it was easier than the actual tying of the tubes. But something went wrong and I had to get a hysterectomy to get the things out. It was awful! After wards I felt so sad that I even thought about tying my tubes and I already had my three children. I felt incomplete and sad.
You might end up changing your mind... you never know. I would suggest that you wait... you still have so much time left ahead of you. I am 27 now and still regret it... especially when I see new babies and remember that I will never have another one...
And are you planing on marrying this man??? You said he was your current boyfriend... what about a "future husband'... what if he wants kids and you change your mind??? Then what???

i am 23 with 2 kids. I have my tubes tied it is a great thing if you have kids, and do not want anymore. but after i had my tubes tied my period got alot worst. and sometimes twice a month. but there is a birth control that works from 5 to 7 years it is called an I U D. look in to it. it will work better and if you change your mind you can still have it removed. The best thing is most women that have it do not have a period at all.

Tubal ligation surgery is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.
My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

You're healthy and don't see this...but messing with your female stuff/hormones is just plain stupid. Sorry. But it is.
There are millions of women with all sorts or hormonal issues now thanks to unneeded surgeries or carelessly prescribed medicines. Suffering in hell...those women are because most doctors don't have a clue how to TREAT them after the fact!
There are so many ways to avoid getting pregnant other than going under the knife. You can chart your cycles (free, easy), do a lower dose nuva ring (2/3rds less hormones than the pill)...
GOOD LUCK :)
