Hi, I was wondering if people who are put on life support ever "recover" from that condition. My grandmother was taken to the hospital because of breathlessness that was a combination of old age and a respiratory infection. Apparently, she was stabilized thereafter. However, I've now heard that she is on life support. Is this a way to help her "recover" from the respiratory infection or just a way to prolong the inevitable?

Thanks.

I blush a lot and get shy easily. It is annoying. What are some good tactics to block the shy monster?

My friend is saying she's emo and I know she's not but I think she's just doing it for attention. But now she started cutting herself, I don't want her to do that. How can I talk to her and not offend her? What should I say? Should I say anything at all or just let it be and see if she stops???

If your answer is yes, could you tell me if there is a name for it? Yeah, I know there's photophobia, which is normally excessive sensitivity to light due to having an eye problem or disease, but it can also be an irrational fear of light.

I had a root canel done 10 days ago and the pain is still the same. No change. 3 days ago my dentist gave me the strongest anti-biotics but it still did not help. As soon as the anti-biotics is gone (4-6 hours) the pain comes back just as much as it was 10 days ago. There is no relief at all. She did not take an X-ray to check my tooth. She just showed me the x-ray photo taken after the root canel done. She explained it might be due to a little extra cement filling left at the end of the root. And that might cause the pain. Then just asked me to continue the pain killers. I know she did something wrong but don't know what to do now. I think I'm another victim of a failed dental practice :(. And now she asked me to just sit & wait until the pain is gone. But the pain has not changed any little bit. Right before it's time for me to take another anti-biotics, the pain comes back as much as it was. I got Etna Ins & she used it up on me. Now I cannot afford to see another dentist:( Advise?

She has been really unhappy and has had low self confidence for sometime. About a year ago I found out she had been self harming and she has attempted suicide a couple of times.
Since then she has been talking to a councillor and I was under the impression that the self harming had stopped, but I have recently found out that she still gets angry and hurts herself sometimes.
She is a bit more comfortable talking to me now, which I think is good, but she often tells me that she is having dark thoughts and that she doesn't want to 'be here' anymore. This scares me, but I think she is telling me because she wants help, the only thing is, I don't know what I can do.
I would really appreciate any advice, thanks.

I jog everyday in addition to seasonal sports as a hobby (ski in winter, cycle in summer, etc.). However, I also take the liberty of getting exercise from random activities; for example, I typically use the stairs as opposed to the elevator.

But on the way up to my apartment today, I fell up the stairs...I tripped on one, and ended up higher than when I started...and with a bruise on my shin. What sort of exercise would be appropriate to compensate for missing two or three steps? Should I run for an extra thirty minutes or what?

OK there is a group on myspace filled with teens , this Group is called the Plastics , they have been linked to many suicides in the last year . They actually help people by telling them how to kill themselves , I asked the owner to delete the group and she commented back

" NO , if they kill themselves they deserve it "

the sad thing is a 5th grade girl lost her life because someone 1500 miles away told her she was worthless . I am making it my job to get the word out and to STOP this Group .

The groups url is http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuse...

and the OWNERS url is http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus...

I am asking EVERYONE to stop what you are doing and let the owner know what kind of damage she is causing people

Mine was my 1st diagnosis @1150 mg/dl on the high end (went into db coma, required double insulin IV's), and on the low end, @19 mg/dl, which I brought myself up with lots of m&m's.

I'm not proud of it, but can anyone beat that?
