I have been diagnosed as having post traumatic stress syndrome and think I may also be bi-polar (having done extensive internet research). I have not gone in for further diagnosis yet, but I am taking my friend's lithium (with her permission of course) as she is trying to get pregnant. I have never been happier. Is it wrong to take her lithium when it hasn't been prescribed to me?

I'm 14, and my heart rate is 72 per minute. My doctor said that was good, but for an athlete it should be 50-60! What does a large heart rate mean? How do I get it lower?

I need the best, nutritional way to lose weight. Something that will last forever. I am told that I do not eat enough, but I cannot seem to bring myself to eat when not hungry. I'll take any 'serious' advice. A nutritionist's answers would be greatly appreciated. Especially an exact meal plan/example. I would prefer to avoid pills/medication.

I have family member who will be feeling pretty down because it has to go back in and she will be pretty bummed out if she can't have some normalcy to her life. She is recovering from throat cancer and the first trach left scar tissues on the inside. She has had several severe episodes of breathing distress. Now the doctors say - No Choice It must go back in.

Back in October I seperated my shoulder playing soccer (a GK at my university). I loosened the ligaments in my shoulder, tore my labrum (cartiledge), and tore my rotator cuff slightly. I'm scheduled for surgery soon and I'd like to know how long I should expect it to take before I'm back at 100% and doing pull-ups again. The doc said he'll be tightening the ligaments and repairing the cartiledge but will most likely do very little, if anything, to my rotator cuff. I know I'll be doing rehab for a while and that each person is different when it comes to recovery, but how long did it take any of you to recover from a similar surgery?

My mom has alzheimer's. She had a small stroke yesterday called a TIA. At the emergency room we found out that her right carotid artery is significantly blocked which puts her at high risk for a stroke. Should she undergo surgery with its risks; infection, bleeding, stroke, and death? If the surgery is successful in removing the blockage it will lengthen her life and she will live with alzheimer's longer. Her quality of life as an alzheimer's patient is very poor to put it nicely. Can anyone help me with this ethical question?

Basically I am a long term alcoholic with OCD, self harm disorder, long term depression and otherr ptoblems it's best not mentioning.

Today I had 14 beers - I have not drunk properly in months and now I feel drunk, dizzy and sick. I have not gone into my usual 24 beers and pass out cycle so (perhaps) I am less addicted than I I thought. Then again I wrote a (crappy) poem today:

This is not what I want to say
The words I need won't come
I can't ask you to stay
And abandon your place in the sun

You know that I'm falling
And falling fast it's true
It's not the first time I've fallen
From grace, from favour, for you

Now I am reclaiming
My part in this thrice blighted day
It's myself I'm blaming
Because I can't ask you to stay

I have considered becoming a priest of some kind - will this make me less hollow?
Also I thought I was over her but I still occasionally feel for her 8 years after I last saw her. Is this normal? Is there such a thing?
