Hi, I am just about to start a project to cover a little bench.

http://www.janlynn.com/detail.cfm?ID=6484

It's been a while since I've stitched and it seems last time I did a fairly large pillow (in wool just as this project) and didn't bother to use a frame and it worked fine.

As I start this I'm getting grief from some people (mom you know this means you) that I need to put it on a scroll frame. I hate the bulky feeling this creates and it makes it harder to tote the project.

I don't want to be sorry later, so I'm asking any stitchers out there. I do have a scroll frame, and I do have hoops of various sizes. I honestly wanted to try to paint my own canvas and take it from there but I found this kit on sale at AC Moores' and only paid about $10--too reasonable to pass up!

Thanks for any help you can offer! You know how anxious you get when you are itiching to start something new...!

I am working on a little project involving Sculpey clay and Translucent Liquid Sculpey. I have run into some problems along the way and am trying to find a place to get some answers. I am looking for a discussion-type website that has recent activity (not posts from 2001 as most recent).

I hope I can explain this right. I have a Brother sewing machine that I am trying to learn to sew on, I have it all together the needle threaded ready to go and when I get going on the sewing the spool of thread goes flying. There are two places for thread to go on the top and it does not stay on either one. The one the pic shows that it should be on has a very short arm for me to stick my spool on. Any tricks? What am I missing? HELP!!
Thanks in advance!!

It's a simple cotton skirt made of 100% cotton. I know that you can go buy skirts that have skinny, vertical wrinkles in them that last no matter how many times you wear or wash them. I was wonder if there is some sort of spray or soak that I can buy at a craft store or something to get this skirt to stay permanently wrinkled.

Thanks!

My friends and I would like to travel to Japan, and so we need to raise a lot of money. We were thinking that it would be fun to have a small carnival, and lots of people would come. However, we need to find something inexpensive, yet still fun, that we could use for our carnival. We won't be able to afford any rides or anything, unless they're really small - we have a budget of around $200 - $300. We'd like to rent a snowcone machine, popcorn machine, possibly a dunk tank, and some assorted games, like ring toss, etc. If you could help, that would be GREAT! Thanks so much! Please respond soon! (: -Shia
