I was thinking of taking a walk through the neighborhood to try and find some different types of wood to make knitting needles ( not necessarily to use ) but just to have a unique collection of my own, sort if something no one else would have. I guess you could say more for decoration purposes.

Any suggestions?

I saw once a company that made a quilt out of your babies old clothes. I cannot remember the name of the company. It was like Willow Creek or something. Does anybody know what it is called or someone that does this?

I am new to knitting and I live on a very very tight budget. I seen this site where you can make circular needles with weed eater cable. I was wondering if anyone knew if they could be made with any other type of material in between the two needles. e.g... small rope, or any other material that bends .

I have been on ebay and they only have cotton, fleece, and flannel fabric and no satin fabric. Some people make hello kitty clothes on ebay and have really nice satin/silky fabric. Where do they get it from? Any websites that sell it?

I'm 13 and REALLY bored. Honestly, school just isn't enough to keep people busy. Anyway, I was looking for a good, cheap hobby. I already play tennis and I'm learning Spanish. I tried Japanese but I had enough of conjugating verbs. I love reading and occasionally writing but I never have very original ideas(too much reading so I always steal plots...*sigh*). I also like to draw but I always get yelled at in class because I don't like to draw at home. Please and thank you!

I'm trying to make a teddy bear's head, and the patterns I have stink. So, if you can give me a website that would be great! I've tried to look it up by beach ball pattern, 2d sphere, all kinds of things...
Also, if there are any math people who can give me a basic idea, I do have graph paper I could use. I'd like to split the sphere six ways, like a beach ball.

Our mascot is the Patriots but the theme does not have to be related. Any cool ideas for a float in the parade?

I enjoy arts&crafts, and working with my hands. The only thing that seems to be wrong with working with my hands is that I am totally blind, and I was looking for a new hobby. My other hobbies are: listening to music, and reading.

Is a slightly off-center reverse strike (meaning the rim around the edge is still intact, but very noticeably narrower at one side and thicker at the other) on the new 2007 Washington $1 coins considered an error, or is this within acceptable mint standards and therefore likely to be very common?

The coins in question are from the Denver mint.

I need to know if there are any good types of liquid rubbers, plastic, resins...that i can use to reapply on a plastic object, then reshape.

If possible, any suggestions on where I can get it or if I can make it.

Just to let you all know, i have a project to alter this plastic shaped object our teacher gave. I wanted to be able to reshape the thing.

I've seen a few pics of homemade yarn dreads (though I always love seeing more!!), and I noticed that most people suggest using wool. Can any type of yarn be used to make something at least similar to dreads, or is wool the ultimate way of going about it??

I'm in charge of getting together a craft project for about 12-15 seniors. It needs to be something that won't be too costly or too complicated but yet not a child's project. It can be something having to do with easter eggs or even crosses. Tips or links would be appreciated too!

If you find some online and give me a link that's ok but I have looked in catalogs and online and have not been able to find anything that I like. I'd like to have the mouth open for the mail or breath fire instead of a flag coming up...just something creative.

I'm writing fiction and this is all they have available. Don't give me references on soapmaking. I just want to know which one would make a better, less objectionable product, because they need to make soap and that's all they have to work with. It's not just for bathing, but for clothes laundry.

Also, will petroleum saponify? I wouldn't think so, but I wanted to ask those who might know with certainty.

Thanks to all who answer.
