I enjoy arts&crafts, and working with my hands. The only thing that seems to be wrong with working with my hands is that I am totally blind, and I was looking for a new hobby. My other hobbies are: listening to music, and reading.

Of course you can learn to knit -- you just need someone to teach you how. Ask for a referral at your LYS (local yarn shop). Or find a knitting group near you and ask if someone can teach you or recommend a teacher:

Many blind people knit, using oral versions of their patterns. You will need a teacher who can help your hands learn the correct motions and movements needed. Perhaps you should contact your local office of the Commission for the Blind to help put you in contact with a teacher.

There are lots of carfts you can do, and do well. I have a blind friend who makes lifesize sculptures from papier mache. His statues look like wood when they're finished. You can design your own molds from wire, or make a plaster cast of a person, a statue or even a taxidermy animal.
