I wanted to buy a 10 year old girl her first sewing machine. I have looked on-line and all the sewing machines look to "babyish". I wanted to get her a machine that a first timer could use easly especially because she is a little girl but also one that isn't pink and fuzzy!! any suggestions? Please included websites!!

Just setting up a tropical fish aquarium. Put water in tank but gravel has thrown up loads of dust in water - maybe should have washed this first? will I have to empty all this and start again or will the filters clean this given time?

I've been searching on sites about how to build a simple indian (from india) flute but but they don't give details about how to put the holes and how big should be the holes at different length flutes.
I would be very gratefull if someone could tell me how to calculate the length and the positioning of the holes for different length of flutes and diferent scale

My mom gave me some cute fluffy baby yarn to knit something for my 7 month old daughter. Up until now I've just used plain old typical yarn. I'm trying to knit with this stuff but I can't see what I'm doing because of all the fluffy bits in the way - it's really difficult to work with! Is there some kind of trick to it that I'm missing?

I just made a basic simple quilt for my daughter
(sandwiched batting between top panel and bottom panel and sewed together)

I'm looking for ideas to "finish" it.
I don't care for yarn ties, but it needs something to hold it all together so it doesn't separate & billow out.

have u created your own pictures? so far i've made stuff from the kit, but it's hard to come up w/ my own thing..

btw, quilling is using long strips of thin colored paper and curling them into little shapes, and glueing them together to create flowers, etc...it's reallly pretty :)

Ok I have this coin that my boyfriend was givin. Its about the size of an American dime, its silver, and kind of heavy. One side has a side face portrait of a man and "ALBERT II" on it. The other side has the date at the top "1995", a big number 1, and under the one is "BELGIQUE". It also has the word "FRANC" on it. I was just wondering what country it was from and what it was worth in American money if any. Thank you.
