I am making a rump roast for dinner tonight (its in the oven) and its the first time I have made a big meal like this... (I am a total take-out junkie!)
I found a recipe that says to thaw the roast, place it in a roasting pan-- Mix dry onion soup mix w. cream of mushroom soup, pour soup mix over the roast. Cover with foil and bake for 2 hours.
Now, my question is- when do I add vegetables (using celery, potatoes, carrots) to it, and how? Like do I quarter the potatoes and dice up celery/carrots and toss them in there? Add anything else? It's been in the oven for about 10 minutes, and our oven is pretty low powered, so Im thinking about cooking it for 2.5 hours... help! Also, about gravy, I cheated and got Roast Gravy dry mix... do I put this right on the roast or wait until it is done?
PS- I hate cooking! haha
