To bother people?
We always buy the 12 pack weiners and the 8 pack buns, since only one of our kids eats a bun, the other just eats the hotdogs chopped up, so it works out.
I've seen the hotdogs in an 8, buns 12, like you mentioned, so I guess they sell them both ways so you can buy more, or less, as suits you needs.

So you will buy two packs of hotdogs. Hotdogs are eaten by little ones without the bun, but hotdog buns aren't worth eating without the hotdog.

its all about supply and demand. you have those extra 4 buns now you have to buy another pack of hotdogs. Then you have 4 extra hot dogs, and now you have to buy another pack of buns. They make money no matter what. This makes me really want a nathans hotdog.

they do it to annoy us!! so we end up having to spend extra money on something we dont need.
have u ever seen the film 'father of the bride' with steve martin?
there is a great scene in that folm where hes on a supermarket and only wants 8 rolls, so he rips the packet ipen and removes the ones he doesnt want.. when questioned about it he throws a tantrum and ends up in jail hahaha.
ive felt like that a few times.

actually You can buy hotdog buns in 8s And packages of hotdogs are available in bigger quantities than 8.

yes i know drives you daft, but then if you had to buy more hot dogs then you'd have 16 and ONLY 12 buns, then you'd have to buy more buns and still wouldn't be enough no matter how many hot dogs or buns you bought
