I just bought a new charcoal grill- previously all of my BBQ'ing has been with propane. I'm venturing out using real wood charcoal and don't know how to tell when the charcoal is ready to use, or how to light it adequately.

HELP!!

I didn't. I just found out a week ago. I found that pretty gross, and I was also discouraged (I was going to be pork-free for three years next month).

Foods that contain gelatin include the following:
gummy bears, sour cream, cream cheese, cake icing, marshmallows, soups, sauces, gravies, canned ham, canned chicken, corned beef and sausage.

Ugh.

Here's some more info

Thanks for listening.

I'm thinking of either cooking prime rib or beef brisket for Christmas dinner? Which is more economical for a family of four on a budget?

i see food contents labeled in g (grams), and salt content as mg (milligrams). so 400 mg in chips, is that alot?

the salt count seems to show that it's no better then eating an entire bag of salt.

what's your take on this?

My wife & daughter refuse to allow saffron in any cooking other than Middle Eastern.

They allow me to put saffron in "Dolmas" (stuffed grape leaves with lamb/rice filling) and "rice pilaf" (middle eastern rice with or without orzo pasta)

Is there a traditional dish in the UK for New Year's Eve? Here in the US I'm making black-eyed peas because it's a southern tradition for good luck. I'd love to know if there are any other NYE traditional foods, in any country.
