Some animals (I know of pigs and chickens) are given a drug to plump them up in order to get more meat from them. Do you think that this drug could be entering the human food chain and making us generally bigger too ?

Not like, say, bananas that are already past it by the time you get them home. And not things like pineapples which are far too large to eat as a snack?

My girlfriend dislikes Italian food, ostensibly because it causes her to have stomachaches. When we eat noodles, like spaghetti, vermicelli, fettucini, linguini, papardelle, etc., she does sometimes have stomachaches, which is why we rarely eat these things. However, when we eat non-noodle-shaped pasta, like penne rigate, farfalle, macaroni, and orzo, she doesn't have this problem. Stuffed pastas like tortellini and ravioli can go either way.

It is my considered opinion that she is insane.

I am sick and tired of instant noodles. Eating out is getting lame and a waste of money. The only thing I know how to cook are sphagetti and pastas as well as heating Campbell's soups. I need easy recipes for a variety of home-cooked food. By the way, I have a frigde, a pot and a rice-cooker with me.
