I am bringing something to drink, but would like to bring a dish that doesn't need much more prep work or reheating at the party. It's adults in their 30s-40s, and maybe a few kids wandering around. The meal menu is very casual (hot dogs, ribs, etc). Anyone have any fun ideas?

I know that there are quite a few bars in each area. I am just not sure which one would be better for a younger crowed. Can you suggest a particular bar or website that will help me with my task?

Maybe serve on empty coffin for a table? Maybe use a lot of catcup for 'blood?' Other ideas? Since I am vegitarian and will use tofu instead of meat, should I serve the 'meat' raw or cooked?

I posted a question about what kind of oil to use with fondue. And the responses I got back were fine but now I feel like I'm doing too much. I plan to make a cheese fondue for an appetizer and also have beef & chicken for the main meal. I'm also having a dinner salad and baked potatoes. My dippers for the cheese are going to be brocolli, cauliflower, celery, and bread. I'm also going to have some fresh fruit for looks. The cheese is a ranch dressing mixed up type thing. I've had all of this when I went out to eat at a fondue restaurant. This is what they brought!!! Is this too much??? Oh and I'm making a cheesecake for dessert. ( I got a spring form pan for Christmas and I want to use it ) :o) TY!

We're having a bufet on New Years Eve and plan on keeping it out for a long time. How can we safely put potato salad out for 5 hours? Put one bowl in another bowl of ice or what? How well does herring keep (both wine and sour cream).

I'm planning to have a chocolate fountain at my wedding, and I also want to do a cheese one. I know that some places that rent fountains provide cheddar cheese ones, but I'm planning to buy smaller fountains instead, so I need some help as to what to put in it. I've bought a Rival one (holds 3-5 lbs of chocolate), and I've heard that it can be used for pretty much anything (hot sauce, BBQ sauce, carmel sauce, etc.), but I need some details on how to do cheese.

What kind of cheese should I try? I'll be testing it before the wedding anyway, but need some ideas. I don't want to use standard "cheese fondue" stuff, as it's a bit too sharp. I saw Velveeta suggested somewhere, but I don't know if I'd need to add oil, or if something else would be better. (If you use chocolate, you sometimes have to add oil to the chocolate to get it to flow properly.)

Any ideas would be great - and I'd love to hear from anyone who's done/seen one of these.
