I've been seeing alot of commercials with P. Diddy for Ciroc vodka, saying that it's the official vodka of New Year's Eve. Where does one get this title, is it phony, and where is our official...let's say, rum of New Year's Eve?

If I use dried basil leaves (McCormic) in pesto, will it still turn out? The recipe says to use fresh basil leaves and to blend them into a paste. Will the dried leaves make a paste, or should I add something else?
Thanks!

I recently started a vegetarian diet and have recently learned that a favorite yogurt - Dannon Light 'N Fit - in my daily diet is made with "kosher gelatin" - eek! So, I'm looking for a low-calorie and/or low-sugar yogurt made without gelatin. I still consume by-products and am not yet seriously looking to do the vegan thing. I don't want any animal products sneaking in!

So, if you have any knowledge of yogurt that you would like to share - please do!

some of them you leave the lid on, some you don't, some you've got to wash, some you don't. The instructions on this one are all foreign, I can't understand a word but its turned out all sticky and starchy and gooey!

Would I still be a vegetarian if I was lacto-ovo-vegetarian? I may not be a TRUE vegetarian but can I still call myself one. Oh yeah, by the way, I want to be a lacto-ovo-vegetarian because I'm trying to take it slowly.

I got an awesome castle Bundt cake pan for Christmas. Problem is, I have never used one!

I love love love yellow cake, can I use a yellow cake mix in it, or will it just crumble? Is there a better brand to use (like Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines) or is there a variation I should use in the preparation?

Here is the cake pan I recieved:

I am preparing food for a birthday party in January for 100 people. I have 6 inexperienced servers to carry out the plates and 2 additional helpers in the kitchen. My biggest concern is plating the three items (salad, pasta, peppersteaks). I want the food to be served hot so I don't want to plate too early, but then I don't want guests to have to wait 20 minutes to get their food. What would be the best use of my two kitchen helpers? Overall, what is the best way to cater this event?

Thanks for your help!

...by buying vegetarian bacon/sausage or the like - it's a puzzle to me, why not have your vegetarian meat substitutes in the shape of an apple or a banana?
