I got an awesome castle Bundt cake pan for Christmas. Problem is, I have never used one!

I love love love yellow cake, can I use a yellow cake mix in it, or will it just crumble? Is there a better brand to use (like Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines) or is there a variation I should use in the preparation?

Here is the cake pan I recieved:

Thanks so much!

You sure can --
* A 10 - 12 cup Bundt® will accommodate a standard cake mix or recipe.
* For a 6 - 9 cup size - adjust batter or use a single-layer cake mix or recipe.
* Cake mixes specially designed for the Bundt pans can be purchased through Nordic Ware or other outlets.
* Recipes are readily available from the Nordic Ware website or their cookbooks.
* Bundt cakes are very easy to slice, even thin slices hold together well.
* Cake is easily removed from the pan and clean-up is no problem.
* Quick coffee cakes - easily turn a white or yellow cake mix into a coffee cake by adding/varying ingredients.
* A Bundt cake looks like a professionally baked gourmet cake.
* Bundt pans can also be used for gelled salads and desserts, as well as a shaped meatloaf.
* Bundt pans are available in an interesting array of styles and shapes, for holidays, special events or everyday.

Bundt Cake Mix

Sure you can use a cake mix. I make rum cakes every year in a bundt pan and the secret is to put a good coating on the pan first. You can now purchase a spray for this which is a combination of flour and oil (sorta like Pam, but with flour). It works great.Good luck.

Great thing about bundt pan is they are so awesome and so many variations using just yellow cake mix. Just be sure to grease and flour the pan. I use crisco (or something similar) coat with flour and shake the flour around and around to cover completely.

Add the cake mixture and your imagination. I like to pour 1/2 the cake mix in and add some nuts, chips, coconut, etc., etc. then the remaining cake mixture, what a nice surprise when you cut the cake. Add only 5 minutes longer to your baking time.

I saw that pan in the store and I love it. You can use any cake mix in it but be sure to grease the pan well. The pan should have come with recipe suggestions and will probably tell you how many cake mixes it requires to have it turn out properly. It could require more than one mix but most pans typically only need one.

Yes, you can use any cake mix that you want. Make sure the cake pan is well coated with butter/shortening and then with flour. This is so it will come out of the pan. If not well coated it will stick. I looked at the picture and good luck.

You can bake any cake mix in it. It will just be a regular cake.
