If I use dried basil leaves (McCormic) in pesto, will it still turn out? The recipe says to use fresh basil leaves and to blend them into a paste. Will the dried leaves make a paste, or should I add something else?
Thanks!

It will not work using dried basil. If you do attempt to make it with dried basil you would have to cut the oil and other ingredients way down. I personally would not make it if you don't have fresh basil.

no it wont taste right..... fresh basil and pine nuts makes pesto and dried basil leaves arent as potent or flavorful as fresh ones..... not even close to the same flavor...
