When I was younger, I had a wonderful babysitter who was Pilipino. She used to make this great chicken dish that she would serve over white rice. I do not remember any exact details but I do know that the dish had chicken, maybe some vegetables and had a savory soup-like sauce. I know this is all very general, but I would like to make this meal again. Does anyone know any recipes for meals like this? The meal may be a philipino dish or may not. If you know please help. :) Thanks

Am I wrong to think this is the stupidest, if not, then a most dangerous gatering with a small child present.
Has anyone ever heard of this type of birthday party?
What do you think???

I see them at places like "Things Remembered" and occasionally at liquor stores, but does anyone use them? I know they're customary as a gift for a groom, but honestly... When was the last time you saw someone pull one of these out of their coat and take a swig?

I do not plan to go fully vegetarian, but I would like to add more vegetarian meals to my diet. I like tofu stir fry and bean burritos, but I'm looking to expand my repertoire. Any suggestions for a really good cookbook? I'm cooking for myself, my husband and two toddlers.

I am preparing a plum pudding for Christmas right now, like every year. The results use to be delicious in the meanwhile, but the right addition is a problem. I have tried sweet sauce, stewed fruit, more rrrumm - and nothing at all.
I would like to know what experienced native plum pudding makers do recommend...

Does anyone know where I can buy vegetarian mincemeat in the UK? I have tried the Health Food stores but no one seems to stock. I don't want the vegetarians in my family to miss out on the mince pies at Christmas.

I want to make my own soya milk. Does anyone have a great recipe. I usually use W/Worths organic soya milk which has the nicest taste or Vita Soy which is low in additives and good quality.
Also, I noticed there are Soya milk machines e.g. "SoyQuick" but can I just make it with my blender? I haven't looked for a machine yet and am not sure if we have one here in Australia.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Marceau.

I have bought fresh oregano for my herb garden as it is a herb I use a lot for cooking (dried).
I was wondering if you can use fresh oregano in cooking or if you have to dry it.
It doesn't smell very much (the plant).
Does anyone know whether you can use it fresh? If so, any recipe ideas?
If not, how do you dry it?

Other than beans, what other plant or vegetable will help provide the daily protein requirement of an adult? I don't think a person would want to eat beans every day, if you know what I mean.

It's something that has always baffled me... I personally think dark meat (leg, thigh) is much more succulent than dark meat (breast), which is drier and not as flavorful. Dark meat also takes in flavor better in my opinion. Does anyone else see it this way? I was pretty sad when they turned chicken mcnuggets into all white meat...
