I have been veggie for 19 years and I really want to become vegan. What does your typical days diet look like? Any tips or recipes for a wannabe vegan who can't cook would be greatly appreciated.

I know that being a vegan will make me healthier but I am worried about my bones breaking because I don't know where to get an adequate source of calcium that milk provides. Can anyone help me out on this one?

Well, now what are veg*ns going to eat? Certainly this adds to the body of evidence that plants are sentient. BTW--- sentient doesn't necessarily include self-awareness. So you can stuff that counterargument.

What do you think of this article? Again, it's science so I'm aware that there is a virulent strain of anti-science, anti-intellectualism, anti-rationality on the V&V forum. So some critical thinker's responses would be appreciated.

cornbread. As I remember it, her cornbread used only three items, corn meal, buttermilk, and baking powder or soda. That is all, as I remember it. The cooked bread was fairly flat. It did not rise much. Might have been only about an inch and a quarter high. I used to be able to make it, but I have forgotten how. Oh, yes, she might have used a little salt. The crust was somewhat hard. The cornbread did not fall apart. It was somewhat firm. Can any of you help me learn to recapture my mother's cornbread?

I have been trying to frigure out what cuts of meat cook better using different methods. Generally anything with 'roast' in the title would be put in the crock pot on low all day. Not sure if this would produce the best results.

Why is it so difficult to find recipes online from her tv show? It is so frustrating when I see her show in the morning and want to get a recipe. I can never find it. I keep going around in circles on the web trying to find any of them.

I really don't like going out drinking but nearly all social events seem to revolve around getting drunk. My boyfriend, house mates, work colleagues and mates all love going to the pub. Alcohol just makes me feel sleepy and then I get a headache. If I say I just fancy a soft drink, people look at you as if you're mad so I always end up drinking to join in and keep people quiet. I then never sleep properly and feel ill all day. What are the best drinks to have to avoid getting too drunk and prevent a hangove? Im fed up with every social event being an ordeal and wasting my weekend with a hangover when I don't really enjoy drinking in the first place?!

for health reasons, i'm going as low-carb as i can handle. does anyone know of any regimes i could find with full-on meal plans for the first few days (at least) until i adjust to the switch?

i'm not looking for food recommendations as much as a way to put it all together without the fruits and whole grains (and even some of the vegetables) that i'm used to eating.

thanks!

In atlantic Garlic Fingers are usually eaten with pizza. However I heard the other day that they are not common outside of this region. I just want to know if you have ever heard of or eaten them before as well as where you are located.
