I'm Asian, and I've eaten at plenty of places here in New York, and I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions.

A list of where've I've eaten (or at least the restaurants I can remember):

Green Papaya, Spicy and Tasty, Dallas BBQ, Accord Café, Dolers, this place people call 6-6, Olive Garden, Uno's, Applebees, Pho Bang, and currently I don't remember where else.

If any of you visit Flushing you may recognize these places. Open to any type of cuisine!

Go to Kentucky Fried Cruelty under Resources on the left hand side, and i warn you its not nice so if you cant watch animal cruelty then dont watch this, although you should see whats going on! This is beyond cruel and people really need to know about it!

The mangosteen fruit or scientific name garcinia mangostana.

Whats more interesting is what this fruit is capable of. With centuries of folk law, the people in Thailand and other places South Asia grind the fruit up to make medicine out of the pericarp of the fruit. It is even linked to Queen Victoria who was also interested in the folk law behind the fruit and its taste. She even called it 'The Queen of Fruits'.

Centuries on there has been decades of scientific research done on the mangosteen fruit that you can even locate on the internet. Scientific papers show that there over 17000 anti-oxidants in the fruit. Well thats a lot considering most fruits have less than 3000 anti-oxidants.

This fruit has been discovered to help a number of illnesses and diseases. The company XanGo have taken the fruit and made it into an health beverage. I reckon in the next 3 years everyone will have heard of XanGo!

Can anyone recommend a moderately priced, sweeter white pinot grigio? I am going to a wine tasting party on Saturday.

More specifically, if I have not had my daily amount of calories and need to cram some in before getting ready for bed, is that appropriate? I am looking to gain weight, in a healthy manner, and I do not like the idea of going below my daily alotted calorie intake. This being the vegetarian and vegan area, I am speaking about those types of foods. If someone could provide some sort of information about this, it would be most helpful, thank you.

(I've posted this three other times and no one seems to be responding with any useful or meaningful information. It would be most appreciated if someone could provide some insight into this question.)

My husband's birthday is in a couple of weeks and since he was in the Navy (submarine) I thought it would be nice to make a cake in the shape of a sub or something similar to that. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I love new england clam chowder. Decided to cook some myself. And was surprised to find out you have to use pork or bacon for it! Are there any recipies that dont require meat? And if anyone tried it - is it any good?

Criteria, in no particular order:
- Price - I don't want to spend much money. Three bucks at Starbucks is way too much. At $2 each, Red Bull is pushing it. I know I can do better than that.
- Taste - I don't like the taste of coffee much, so some alternative would be good.
- Caffeine content - I've read that the recommended max intake is 200mg per day. I'd like to find something that gets me around 80-120, and would be best if I can consume it all at once, since I usually just get sleepy in the early afternoon.
- Health - I want it to be healthy, so things with lots of sugar are out. I don't mind calories though - I'm a skinny guy.

One thing I've tried is green tea, which is really healthy and cheap and tastes ok, but at only 20-30 mg caffeine per cup, I never notice the effects.

Also, if anyone has suggestions for a safe substance besides caffeine to keep me energized, that would be good too.

Thanks for your help!
