Just for the record, I would like to make sure everyone knows that there is no tea is a Long Island Iced Tea. It is a very strong, alcoholic cocktail. The basic recipe is just equal portions of vodka, gin, triple sec, rum and tequila. Add a splash of Cola (to make it look like TEA) and that's it. There are some variations though:
Version 1 (traditional)
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz triple sec
1/2 oz light rum
1/2 oz tequila
2 oz sour mix
Mix with ice and then top with Cola.
Version 2
2 cups ice cubes
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce gin
1 ounce white rum
1 ounce white tequila
1/2 ounce triple sec
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup Cola, or to taste
2 lemon wedges
Shake everything but cola and wedges in a cocktail shaker.
Pour into glasses and top with Cola, and a lemon wedge.

I am a Bartender, and i have always made them with equal parts
Vodka,
Gin
Rum and
Triple Sec,
and 2 parts sweet and sour
with a splash of coke.
The only time Tequila is used is when someone asks for a Texas Tea, and then I substitute the tequila for Triple Sec

Some places use tequila, some don't. I do not use tequila when I make it as I think that the taste of cheap tequila ruins the taste.
Vodka
Rum
Triple Sec
Gin
splash of sweet & sour
splash of coke
