I've done it on stove top with high end cookware, in a crock pot and in the oven. Crock pot seems to be the easiest. It is good with the vegetables and everthing else mixed in. Always comes out eat-with-a-fork juicy. But I can't seem to get that killer flavor that I've had in a few wonderful homes and home-style restaurants. Is it beef stock I'm missing? Some magical seasoning that southerners hide from yankees? I always get a good cut of meat and cook it slow.

My mom needs to use creme fraiche for some recipes she's doing, but man that stuff is ludicrously expensive. Heck, it seems like it's just glorified sour cream!

Can somebody instruct me on a home recipe for creme fraiche? Do you need a special starter culture, or what?

Thanks for any help. (I wish I could figure out how to make my own gasoline at home, too... LOL).

It's almost midnight and i'm craving a donut really badly. If I go to the gas station and get a Krispy Kreme (ya, they ain't the good fresh ones) and a soda and that's it at this hour....will I look like fatty feeding my face? Personally I don't like water. I drink it when I am really thirsty which is rarely. I know I am supposed to drink 8 glasses a day but it's hard because I get too full just by drinking 2 glasses. I have tried and it makes me pee exaggeratedly. I have been days without drinking water and I just satisfy my thirst with sodas,juices etc.

I am starting to drink water using those new crystal light packs to give flavor to water. That's the only thing that motivates me to drink water.

What happens to me if I go weeks without drinking water? I know I will get dehydrated which I have before but what physical effects happen in the body? What gets harmed? side effects?
