I'm 40 and live alone..Never been married, no kids...Have a brand new nice home and come and go as I please. But, most the people in my neighborhood are married with kids and the wives are always trying to set me up with their friends. I don;t even want a relationship right now. Do tghey think I am not happy in life or what? Do they want me to be miserable like them? Not man needs children and a wife to have a happy life.

I just recently got back together with an ex from 7 years ago. We kinda had a second chance three years ago, but things went sour because of my daughters father being an @ss hole. Anyway, I was single for the last three years praying I would get another chance and finally about a month ago I did. I was just wondering if anyone else has happy endings to similar situations? I know a lot of people on here ask how to get over an ex. I am here to say sometimes it just doesn't happen and it is because they are the one you are meant to be with and sometimes you are lucky enough to get another shot at love. 10 points to the most heartfelt second chance story.

What's considered a date nowadays? Some people say it's a date if the guy pays, others say something differently. Is watching a movie or hanging out with a guy friend a date?

Bar scenario: If a girl thinks a guy is "cute" and maybe wants to go home with him, will she usually expect him to buy her a drink first? And if so, why?

Just wondering... Just been to Amsterdam - very nice. Got me thinking - didn't see any men offering their 'services' (apart from laydee boys). In other words, nothing catering for women. I'm in relationship now, but have had lean times in the past. Would have been nice to visit a 'professional' who knew what they were doing; a nice, clean man with whom I wouldn't have to endure hours of cheap chat/scary dates/etc in order to have a wee bit of personal fun. Would that be worse than having to do 'the walk of shame' the next day??! perhaps not... So why is it that this isn't common in this profession? Is there a gap in the market?! (no pun intended!)

I met a guy a couple weeks ago I was instantly attracted to. So when our mutual acquaintance, him, and I went out last weekend, he gave me oral sex after he asked to make out with me. We ended up talking and we went no further as I'm still a virgin.

However, there are several issues that I'm scared about. The first is that his ex had herpes. The second is that we both just got out of long-term relationships. He basically called me 2 days after the oral sex and told me he wanted to talk to me again, as friends, and do nothing physical.

He invited me to a party last night and I went. Before that I was eating dinner with a male friend of mine. Basically at the party he kept insinuating that he liked "older women" (I'm younger than him), kept hugging other girls, but when I left the room to get beer, he followed me outside. And when I left the kitchen to go to the bathroom, he called me on my cellphone. He was flirting with other girls, but when he, our acquaintance, and I left the party

I met a lady online a few weeks ago, we exchanged our pics and were chatting too. I also asked her to tell me whenever she feels ready to meet.

Recently we've exchanged our cell numbers and one evening we sent each other over 40 sms'es so I think it shows she's keen.. she also said she's very disappointed that all guys cheat and so on..

Now I don't understand anything what's happening here, she looks interested in me but she never sends me messages first.. or she just thinks I should take the initiative. I haven't called her yet (sms only) but I don't want to seem pushy.

What do you think should I keep sending her messages or wait for any signs from her?

We live in the same city, by the way

Thanks alot for helping,
have a great day

It's pouring outside and thought I'd idle away the time by asking what kind of looks you go for in a guy, how he should behave and what his personality should be like in order to win you over? Just so I can treat someone better and know what to do.

Btw I'm 27, 6ft4 with dark eyes, intelligent but quite shy and sometimes not a great talker, quite sensitive and witty, in a moderately paid job. (also not as self obsessed as this normally, honest)

Sometimes when I try to give a girl a lustful look I get that look of disgust that girls do when they want to brush you off. Is this really disgust? Is it because of the way I look, or because I seem to be coming on too strong? Or do some girls do it because they are stuck up or being snobby?
