i tend to just come out and say, i like you but does it work better just to make them want you? or should i just tell guys how i feel?

subtle hints. girls who talk too much can be overwhelming. you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Do your best to dangle the carrot in front of his face, but don't shove it in his mouth. Guys (or atleast I) like to be the agressor. They wanna feel like they have chased down the game and captured it, not that it just jumped right in their lap.

A true man does not care whether a girl likes him or not. A true man TAKES what he wants, because he knows they WILL like it when he gives it to them. So no, it doesn't matter.
Now, for the average man, yes they prefer you to come out and say it, because the average man is desperate.

personally i would let the fellas do the chasing saying it to them first would make me feel cheap and slutty fellas always love the case its a game and they all love getting the prizes at the end

well... if you want to lead them on then lead them on....otherwise just say I like....however, it does seem kinda easy for him. If he is the quiet type then just blurt it out, if not then lead on.
