I'm 40 and live alone..Never been married, no kids...Have a brand new nice home and come and go as I please. But, most the people in my neighborhood are married with kids and the wives are always trying to set me up with their friends. I don;t even want a relationship right now. Do tghey think I am not happy in life or what? Do they want me to be miserable like them? Not man needs children and a wife to have a happy life.

Well, take it as a compliment then...would you rather they glared at you everytime you pulled your car in the drive at night because they think a single 40-year old man in a suburb full of children might be a pedofile?

If you're truly as comfortable in your own skin as you seem to imply, then you should be confident enough to gently but firmly let them know that you're not looking for a relationship right now, and you'd rather not hurt the feelings of one of their friends.

Your words seem to indicate more irritation that real anger...so just turn it around, and look at it as an indication that these other ladies think of you as a catch.

Hey, I am with you. I am a woman and I live alone. I don't need any one matchmaking for me. I can take care of messing up my own life.
