...my sister has expressed to me, a concerning situation regarding an adolescent on-line relationship; apparently, her 14-year old son, my nephew, has connected with a girl on-line, and appears to be not so much obsessed, but more blindly amored with her. My sister has expressed her concerns to him, regarding the possibility of a perverse on-line individual, cleverly mascarading as a girl, based upon recent and repeated news reports, but he continues to deny this possibility, stating that he supposedly knows this girl way too well, and that there's no way that this person he's talking to, online, could be anything but what he knows for sure that she is. Apparently, he's never spoken to her on the phone...just online...

...being single, I'm sorta in uncharted territory here; what can I suggest to my sister, as far as her valid concerns, and how can my nephew be convinced to at least listen and understand where she's coming from...

The only time we actually hear we're pretty is from either A. Our moms, or B. That creepy guy at Starbucks in the morning. Instead of making cutting remarks behind eachothers backs, why not just compliment one another?

my beautiful daughter ( who is five) is barely started her first week of school... the 1 st 2 days she has cried everytime when i leave her with her teachers... is there any way i can prevent this from happening....

So. I'm a pretty active person, I keep myself in good shape, eat healthy, lift weights, enjoy club sports, etc. My boyfriend of over a year isn't so active. He's gained about 50 pounds over the past year, including 30 pounds this past summer. He's now officially 20 pounds over weight. I'm worried about him. I tried talking to him, and explaining to him that I was worried about his weight, and how much junk food he's started eating, and invited him to come start weight training with me, or go for walks with me a few days a week to get him into a healthier range. He refused. He isn't interested in playing any kind of sports or games, or lifting weights, and he says he just doesn't care about his weight, and is upset and says I'm acting like he's not good enough for me, and why am I trying to change him? At the same time, his mom has had health problems for years because of her weight. He also thinks that 20 pounds overweight isn't a big deal.
I feel crappy. Help?

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost four years now, and he has recently (for the past 8-12 months) started smoking. Many in his family smoke so it is no big deal to him, but I come from a family that does not smoke and I do not like it. I never wanted to date a "smoker" but he doesnt consider himself a smoker. I told him that if he couldnt quit I honestly did not want to continue to be together. He claimed that I was "taking away his freedom." He also says he will only be an "occasional smoker" and if I can't handle that then its my problem. Although he hasn't quit, he has decreased the amount of smoking he does. Is it fair of me to put our relationship on the line or what are my options here???

I was in a relationship with someone for over 2 years including a tour of duty in iraq & lots if distance. He was the most perfect match for me. When he came home from overseas he was sent off on another assign. that he couldn't share with me so I thought he had abandoned our relationship. I moved on a few months later after no contact & have been with the new bf a year now. when i was a kid i knew things that a 8 year old shouldnt know i knew what sex meant,when i was 11 my sis told me that my father had a another son before he got married to mom (he didnt marry the other women he just had sex),when i was 6 i saw my father and mom fight hit each other,then my mom and sis used to fight my sis used to hit my mom and mom wouldnt hit back because she didnt want to i used see them fight and i cryed but i couldnt do anything,my father was an abusive man i hated him very much but he changed a bit after that but i couldnt think of a way to forgive him whenever i thought of forgiving him i remembered the another child the fights the way he treated my mom and sis mom siad that dad scolded sis for throwing a tennis ball in the neighbours yard that too in front of my whole family my uncles my aunts

I just started dating this guy a couple months ago. When we met there was this instant spark.He has called me everyday since(we live in different provinces)and we talk on the phone for hours each night.I am going to visit him in a week, but the distance thing is starting to take a toll on the relationship. We are starting to mildly argue about petty little things. He said last night that he really wants this to work and the only way to make it work is if he moves here.He kept telling me that he wants me to know hes thinking about the moving thing, but b/c of the fact that he has to make a decision quickly (b/c of school) he feels bombarded. He said hes 99% sure he wants to move here, he just wants to make sure its the right decision. I got kinda angry with him last week b/c hes didnt call me until 2:00am(petty Sh*t) and i felt bad so i apologized. He said thats the only thing that worries him, that if he moves out here we'll argue about stupid sh*t. What do u think about this??HELP!
