My best friend of 30 years is a SEVERE alcoholic. About 6 months ago she lost her relationship with her "boyfriend" and moved back in with her 80-year-old father in another state. She cannot hold a job for more than 2-3 weeks and mostly just sits around all day drinking and making long distance calls on her father's phone. Keep in mind she's 41 years old. She keeps texting me and calling me and saying stuff like "it's time to go" and telling me that she might go to the funeral home and go ahead and make her arrangements, etc. When I tell her I'm afraid she's suicidal, she laughs and says she'd never do that. I'm a single parent trying to raise a teenager and I really don't need the added stress of this. Nothing will get through to her and she obviously does not want to get help. She got a DUI last week and thought it was funny.

How should I handle this? Should I call her doctor and discuss this stuff with him, or should I just ignore her and go about my own life?

Last night, my boyfriend of over a year, whom I live with, took offense to me saying "Stop, please." when I was trying to take some medicine before bed and he grabbed me playfully. So his reponse was "I don't want to be with someone like you. I just want to break up." Two hours later, he denied saying, says he didn't say it... then says he didn't mean to say that. What he meant was that he was mad at me for refusing his sexual advances... He said "You misunderstood me." He does this a lot when drinking. I don't know HOW I could misunderstand that comment and I told him, he does it all the time when he's drunk so this time, I'll take him up on the offer. He says I'm overreacting. What do you think? Why does he say this when he's drunk? Isn't alcohol like a truth serum for most people?

I was involved in a 1 yr relationship with one girl, truely commited,cared for her like anything, treated her like a princess. Apparantly from last couple of months or so, she started avoiding me, getting mad at me for no reasons,calling less frequently, giving bull excuses that busy at work, guests over blah blah..(this is a same girl who used to call like 8-10 times a day). On asking her very honestly if she doesn't even want me to call her up, she flattered and told me she needs to think over about herself. I was like WTF was she doing for 1 yr but swallowed the pain.

This is not even hurt, but disrespecting someone's feelings who trusted her like a diamond.

Why some people are plain morones ?

I'm 21, I've never gone on any dates, except for the prom. I'm starting to feel like I'm really missing out on a lot of stuff. A collegue gave me an ultimatim. By Wednesday I have to at least approach someone and asked if they'd like to hang out, on campus preferably at the cafeteria. I was brought up very conservatively. I don't like drinking or partying. The last time I tried to ask someone out the person ended up being taken and it didn't end very prettyly. I'm still a little haunted by it. How do I do this?

Ive been stabbed on the back a couple of times..and met some few people who are a bunch of liars..
my heart has been broken a couple of times..
that now I cant feel a thing?

yesterday visited my friend and met her wifes brother she actually said some nasty mean things not about me..
but hinting me to not come anymore in her house~
(this is between her and my friend and trying to get back on being mean to me)

that I actually didn't care?
I didn't say nothing back to her just stood and kept on laughing and talking 2 my friend and not give her some attention~

Now every1 is saying I was wrong and that I was suppose to say something back to her..
she didn't disrespect me..but I actually didn't care..
as if she was the last person I would wanna scratch.
the problem is you could lie to meand break my heart right now and I wouldn't care..is this normal?

Is it easier to ignore that you had a relationship with that person, to avoid remembering him/her and forget that he/she once existed...or is it easier to remember this person, keep memories and pictures and talk about him/her...

What explanation can I give to people who knew me as a drinker now that I am sober? I do not want to have to explain the real reason for my sobriety, and I find that people are assuming that I still want to drink and are offering and questioning me. What are some valid reasons for giving up alcohol?

ok so just a run through of wat hapened.... i met a boy on th internet, told him a false name coz i thort nothing wud *** of it, met up, fell in love, a year later told hi mth truth, he was ok, 2 years past he kept worryin then 2wks ago he broke it off saying it had to happen coz of the name thing.

OK update, 2day i went to see my ex to get a chain of mine he had, he said he didnt want to see me and he wuld post it but i wanted to see him, i duno mayb i thort if he saw me again he wud want me back??
anyway i turned up, he let me in, he was trying hard not 2 look at me and wasnt as 'talkative' as he had been on th phone.
anyway we didnt say much i really just wanted to cuddle him, so i did and somehting told me to kiss him, i did half expecting him to push me away but he kissed me back and we ended up 'doing stuff', then i got a cab home, he was still saying we cant be together!
pls someone tell me wat the hell is going on, does he want me or not, im so confused.
