We just got engaged and are trying to save all our money for our house and our wedding. We make pretty good money, but we still want to save as much as we can. The tough part is that his brithday lands on Valentines day. So i have gotten him more than one gift on that day in the past. Do I need to do that? Or just one big present? Any ideas are welcome, but just keep in mind we are on a budget. He hates sports. He is in to construction and cars. Thanks!!!

The concept of chivalry was born from the desire to help and protect those considered weaker. I am in perfect health and am stronger naturally than most guys that lift weights daily. (I only lift once or twice a week).

So, I give up my seat and open doors for everyone. Who knows who is sick that day or just finished chemo?

My wife has a big problem with this. She says:

#1: Only women are deserving. I say, why not be courteous enough to let anyone sit that feels they need to?

#2: That according other women chivalrous treatment is wrong. It's OK to stand or open a building door.

But, I should not open car doors for other women, help others with a coat, help others get seated, etc. These things should be reserved for her only.

I believe all people should be treated with good manners.

We've gone round and round on this.

How do I convince her that good manners are deserving by all, male, female, wife, UPS guy/gal, co-worker, or stranger.

My friends's niece has leukemia and she wants to do something amazing for her birthday (she will be 7) but can't take her out or organise a party due to the risk of infection. Any idea what she could do as this could be her last birthday?? Please help!

We met on line, he is stationed in Iraq....we fell in love...I know it sounds crazy...but that is what happened...we have been engaged for over a month and planned on getting married on his leave in may...two issues arising though hopefully I can get some advice...the first one is that I am am Christian, and I am recieving very little support from my Christian friends who believe this is wrong.....do you think it's wrong and do you think it's possible that two peole can fall in love this way...as well he has been injured and is in a coma right now...what can I do to support him and his family until he gets back home....I am thinking the only thing I can do is pray...I don't really know I just need advice....

Okay me and my friend's hubby were at a little get together at their house and we heard him tell her she can't walk and talk at the same time and that she has alot of book sense but no common sense and I thought that was totally mean, he physically abuses her at times and mentally abuses her all the time I mean I know they use to fight but she has stopped and he is still fighting her and brings times when she use to hit him. I just don't think it's right I see she's changed but he hasn't I wish she would just leave the jerk what do yall think?

So, a few months into our relationship i caught my bf sending girls messages on myspace. Nothing really bad, but just stuff like "hey i like ur pics". If he carried on conversation, he always mentioned me so he wasnt being unfaithful or anything. I also seen him commenting pics calling women beautiful and stuff like that. Ok, maybe I was too straight laced as a kid (20+ years ago) it seems these kids today are much more open about talking about what I consider adult issues and cussing is not so taboo anymore. Not that they are going around saying it freely, just not hiding it. Another thing they are not hiding is intimate things, such as showing their new underwear (thongs) after going shopping. One kid admitted unashamed that she uses a baby pacifier to help her sleep. Am I just way out of touch or should I be thankful that they are so open with their lives. I try not to act shock and just ask questions because I am genuinely interested. Anyone else dealing with these issues?

Me and my girlfriend broke up 3 months ago over a misunderstanding, i hurt her by saying things in haste, before hand we were really in love, big time.
