Friends - March 2007

My roommate comes from a rich family and is used to not having to do anything. Lately she has been trying to get me to do everything around the house. We alternate chores, but she asked me to clean the house and cook a few weeks ago in exchange for $20. I am always short cash and gladly accepted. Over the last couple of weeks this has become the norm. Our friendship also seems to be more distant as well.

This morning I thought things were better because she gave me a present. It was a black skirt and white blouse - the same uniform her family's maid wears. I thought it was a joke and laughed it off, but she said it would keep my regular clothes from getting dirty. She even had me try it on.

I felt like an idiot, but was not sure what to say. Her father pays our rent and I cannot afford a place on my own, but this seems a bit extreme. Is Beth really being my friend? Is this a joke?

I live alone. The only phone call i have had in a month are telephone solicitors. most of the time it doesn't get to me at all, or I don't let it.. but sometimes I could just scream.

i had a best friend, we quit talking 3 years ago.. we work at the same shop. at that time she changed her phone number, and quit talking to me, never telling me what happened.. 3 months ago, i tried waving to her, we talked for a few days, she has been working 2 jobs. last week i tried waving again, we talked, a hi-lo driver decided to get in the middle. she came up to me a few days ago, accusing me of saying stuff about her(the hi-lo driver made her mad and the stories werent the same). anyways, we ended up talking and i asked her if she wanted to bury the hatchet, she agreed. we didnt talk that much about before.. she said lets start with e-mail and friends at work, i dont have her number yet. she gave me her e-mail and i asked if she wanted mine and she said she would get it when i wrote. I sent her a e-mail friday. she hasnt wrote back yet.. do you think i will get her number back and we will actually be close friends again?

I'm 15 years old and my youngest brother is now 14 years old. After mum died, our older brothers fight for our custody .Me and and youngest brother have a different father from our older brothers. However, we had pretty much being raised together...but our age gap is huge. My oldest brother is 26, my second brother is 25 and my third bro is 22. My third older brother live with our oldest brother in the city nearby. After mum died, my oldest brother want me and my youngest brother live with him.However, my second older brother want us to live with him in our own house. Me and my youngest brother prefer to live with our second brother as he's kinda of a cool type of brother compare to our eldest brother which is known as a very strict brother. I had a history being slapped by my eldest brother when he caught me smoking.My youngest brother are also pretty much scared of our oldest brother too.We really want to stay with my second brother.Can we make our own decision here?

ok when there is someone very outspoken i feel very intimidated.i dont want to feel like that any more .i want to have an outspken atitude. I'm 15 my name is Hillary and I have this friend named Nicolle. At least we used to be friends. That was until she started flirting with all the guys I like. i never had a real friend in my life NEVER.my friends tease me all the time.they never look out for me when i am in trouble even when i help them out.they say i am ugly but i am not.they tell me to shut up when i want to talk.when i say i am not there friend any more they dont do anything.when i stop talking to them they want me to talk to them.sure they send me emails once in awhile but still...they say i am boring too.i dont talk much because i have nothing to say and i am VERY VERY SHY.somtimes i hate there guts they even back stab me.i dont want to stop talking to them because i dot have ANY friends.it because i am too shy.i only had one real friend in kindargarten and when we got older we fell apart we stopped talking and had new interest.my so called friends dont tell me any thing.how do i get REAL TRUE friends.i am a loser arent i.i LOVE naruto he awsome but dont think he should be called friend since he isnt real.what should i do. :(

How do i regain my parents trust they took my cell away bcuz i ran the bill WAY up and now they wont give it back! i dont want to be to obvious by saying when am i gonna get my phone back bcuz i know my parents and they dont like it when i do that. they always wont reasons why i should have things!! and i really want it back! wat should i do??

I have neighbours who were born in UK but their families are from China and Malaysia....I'm just curious..is there any other asian country call their brothers and sisters not by their name...for example...my neighbour from China call his older brother as "Tai Ke" or something similiar...and neighbour from Malaysia call their older sister as "Khaka"....why can't they just call them by their name like we do....Is there any other country have a similiar culture in calling their siblings.

i've been in love with this guy since middle school. He liked me when we were in 2nd year highschool. I didn't know that he liked me until one night while we were chatting online, he told me that he USED to like me before and now he stopped liking me. which for some really odd reason made me love him more. well we used to be close, but when he got a girlfriend a couple monthes later we didn't talk, and hang out as much as we did before. and a while after that we got into a really dumb fight, and ignored each other for about 5 monthes.
and after the 5 monthes we became friends again, but the fight really affected our relationship as friends. what should i do, i'm really confused.

Hey everyone,

My best friend is joining the military and will be leaving for Basic Training soon, possibly in the next few weeks. He won't be here for his birthday if that is the case, and I won't be able to mail him anything for a while. I want to get him something special as an early birthday gift, but I'm not sure what. Being an amazing athlete, he LOVES sports, especially football. He enjoys music and really just having fun. I want to get him something special though, not just clothes or a cd or something. When I was pregnant with twin girls they were premature and I lost them. I named them and their names were Amanda Ashley and Sara Marie- My suppose to be very good friend was pregnant to almost due the same time I was. Well everything was very hard on me and my husband at the time losing our babies our world had been turned up-side down. Well my suppose to be friend at the time had her baby healthy girl and we went to see them and Congratulate them and bring thebaby a gift. Well I picked the baby up and was rocking her and I started to cry, I couldn't help it but tried to hide my tears-it was effident though to everyone. In the mean time her name had not been mentioned and I asked well what did you name her and she says proudly Amanda Ashley, I broke down and ran out to the car, she never came out to me or never gave me any reason why she would do this. Do you think this is tacky or is it just me being too emotional? We haven't been close since. We speak and that is it.
