i'm on the fencing team. lol, yes fencing. the kind of friends i have.. very few fairweather friends. friends who say hi but don't really care. one makes fun of me the others are quick to join in.

To all of the other answers out there... bug off...
To the question asker... I know what you mean (i was in the same position as you)... The way I started to gain more friens was I just walked around with a smile on my face and said hi to people walking down the halls (at school)... I don;t know how old you are, but if you go to school just say hi to the person you sit next to and ask them how they are doing... you don't need to have a long conversation at all, just a simple "hi" and "how are ya?". You'd be surprised at how many people will start to recognize you more and respect you... don't be embarassed to do this at all, it's really not that hard once you start doing it...
Believe me, people (who you never expected) will really appreciate it if you just greet them with a friendly smile on your face...
This is how I got my two best friends....
ps--- don't give up if you don't notice any results after the first couple of days, it can sometimes take a wile for people to get warmed up to you... STICK WIT IT until you start seeing some positive results.

If you aren't involved in some sort of sport or club, get involved, try talking to people in your neighborhood, or at school/work. Do nice things for other people, and try to be sociable.

all my life my so called"friends" have all turned thier backs on me but i will always keep on trying to find some real friends so if you want a friend i would be happy to try and be your friend email me at care17@sbcglobal.net

go to myspace.com , make a profile, browse for poeple in your zip code area and get some! or go clubbing etc etc or get a social job.
