Friends - January 2007

The most recent situation just happened about 2 mins ago. I work with my bf--and we are supposed to be totally honest with each other (aren't all bf's?) about work, and personal. If we don't want to answer anything, we don't lie, we just say I can't talk about it. Well, I've been left alone here in the office to take care of some work, and quite unexpectedly a letter popped up---totally opposite of something important that this friend had told me. The kicker is---it was written 3 years ago. SO--do I say something now that I saw this, didn't mean to, but am bothered that I was lied to back then? Or just let it go? In the past this happened--my mother had asked me to help her clean out her computer--and when I did---found several saved im conversations between her and my DH about me, both against me. DH and I were having some marriage problems at the time. I let it go then and never mentioned that I had seen it. Do I just let this go too?

My god son's mother called me Saturday to tell me that she was pregnant once again. She has 1 child, had one abortion and one miscarriage. She is pregnant from a guy that she has been sleeping with for about 2 years now. According to her, this guy does not even consider her to be his girlfriend just a female friend. When she found out that she was pregnant she was disapointed about the news and wanted to know if I would adopt her unborn baby. I don't know if she was joking or not but I said no then she asked if I would be this child god mother also.
I basically in so many words called her stupid for continually getting herself into impregnating situations when she is struggling financially with the one child that she already has. Was I insensitive for my comments? I didn't mean to be rude but I just don't understand why she continually puts herself into these dumb situations.

He and I have been friends ever sence grade school, we dated once a few years ago, and from that point on he's been a little jelous when I get a new bf... he's the one who decided it wasn't working, but he acts like he wants to go back. Now(today) he flipped out on me over nothing... he even said to a mutual friend that I've been "shoving my problems down his throat". I almost NEVER tell him what's going on, unless I think he can handle it... is there anything I can do?
I still have feelings for him in a more-than-friends kinda way, but didn't want to let them get in the way of our friendship... maybe that's why no one after him has lasted...

Dear all. I have pointed out the issue in question. But believe me, I never forced any one or complled any one to be mine. Yes, there were some reason behind. In short, I look fair ,smart & 30/35 plus. I do good job in foreign company & earn enough.I spend lot too. I have my own property & side bussiness to. I'm involve with many social organisations wher i got good contacts. With lot of friends & their families.Right on the moment I have as many as 11 girl friends with whom I share every thing!!!!!!!!

I love my best friend to death but recently we went on a trip to va beach to visit this navy guy she hooked up with a couple weeks prior she not only slept with him and got strep throat from him but then new years eve back in dc slept with her best guy friend and wasn't even drunk. She claims to like the navy guy but why would she sleep around if she liked him so much. It really bothers me that she would act like this but I don't know if I am in any position to say something what would you do?

I have this freind, I have known here for a few years now, we lived together for a while, she lost her job and I supported her paid her share of rent etc. She also has this kind of boyfreind who treats her like dirt, when ever they "split up" she is always calling me and I put my life on hold and support her, she took an over dose last year and I dropped everything and went round to help her. Now she is back with him, she dosnt text, she dosnt call me, she wont answer or return my phone calls unless she is at a lose end, in fact she dosnt even bother with me, yet always has time for other mates that cant be bothered with her when she is in trouble. At the moment I have some problems and just need someone to talk to but well she just wont answer her phone, I have never questioned or put presure on her, I have always been there when she has needed me even when it has cost me? what should I do? I know if I speak to her she will just say she has her life now? am I being unreasonable?

I am a high school senior and my brother is a freshman and I am in a very weird position. He is kind of a little nerdy and always gets picked on and made fun of. Well, its getting bad as some boys in his gym class one day were making fun of him in the showers and took a picture of him naked with a digital camera. He was like barely an inch (his size) in the picture and now the picture is being circulated around school. I unfortunately had to see it and now girls and guys are teasing him bad. The girls are waving their pinky fingers at him in the hallway (maybe I am niave, but what does that mean? ) and the guys are calling him names. He wont tell me who did it and he just wont talk to me or anyone. What should I do? He says he is embarrased and will just have to deal with it but I know its bad because he said its worse then when my other sister caught him masturbating in his bedroom to a picture of Tara Reid

My best friend of 15 + years is arguably the coolest guy on earth, in shape, funny, great guy. But his teeth are very small and look awkward in his mouth. I think it is affecting his dating life, as he has only really had one or two serious girlfriends and his self-confidence is very up and down. I want to influence him to get his teeth bonded, where they create a better tooth aestetic without altering the teeth themselves. But it can de expensive. Do you think it's a jerk move to tell him I think that's what he needs? He's only 25, but after 4 years without a girlfriend, I want him to get going! How important are nice teeth?

anyways, she is now 5 weeks pregnant, but she has decided to abort the baby, because it will disrupt her last year at college and she has in sept.
she is having it aborted tomorrow, and although i am not happy with the fact that she has slept with X, i still want her to be happy, even if it means i am not! :( i am going to be behind her 200% all the way though.
so i guess what i'm asking is.....
what's the best thing to say/text/email/do,etc, to show i am there for her?

In July last year I met someone 2 weeks before she had to go back to her own country, the feeling between us were really strong and we've been in touch ever since but to save our emotions agreed to just remain friends. i have been 2 local mother and toddler groups which i discovered 2 b of no help at all the mothers there had there own groups of friends and i felt like an outsider. i have no family where i live and it seems my pc is my only contact with the outside world. it isnt fair on my kids.

I did a horrible thing and I regret it now and know it was wrong but have forgiven myself as I am only human. I still insist that i did it with her best interests in heart but I know I should of left it alone. I knew my best friend, divorced with 3 kids was sleeping with a man who had a girlfriend for past 3 years and he is living with her at the mo. To make it even more complicated I was also sleeping with her and told the unavailable man that I was because I could see that he was just using her and I really cared for her myself.

I know it was wrong and have felt guilty believe me, don't know if they are still together but my friend won't talk to me now. Fair enough...but my question is would you forgive in time and perhaps see that I was trying to look out for her best interests?

I feel really pathetic asking this, but I need some tips on how to get out and make new friends. I am just coming out of a long relationship that ended poorly. Because of him, I lost a lot of the friends that I had before he came along. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, they were party friends, and I have zero desire to party what-so-ever anymore. I used to be able to make friends very easily through work, but I do not work in that type of atmosphere anymore, I have one co-worker. I think some fresh faces might help me to remeber who I was before he came along and who I want to be. I am sorry if this sounds really pathetic.
