I love my best friend to death but recently we went on a trip to va beach to visit this navy guy she hooked up with a couple weeks prior she not only slept with him and got strep throat from him but then new years eve back in dc slept with her best guy friend and wasn't even drunk. She claims to like the navy guy but why would she sleep around if she liked him so much. It really bothers me that she would act like this but I don't know if I am in any position to say something what would you do?

She is your friend so you can talk to her about this. However, you ultimately are going to have to let her be herself. Two sexual encounters don't seem to me to make her overly promiscuous. Especially if one was with a very good friend. She probably has wanted to be with him for a while. Maybe she likes him more than the navy guy; maybe the navy guy doesn't seem to want to commit to her.

Sexual relations in and of themself are not unhealthy. If she is single she has ever right to sleep with whoever she wants to, and being drunk should have nothing to do with it. She can sleep with any man she wants, and doesn't need your approval. Should she use a condom? Certainly. Should you remind her of this fact? Yes. But otherwise, it is not your right to judge her sexual activity. I lost a couple of good friends over exactly what you are doing. You will regret it. Being a good friend means accepting your friend for what she does, and saving judgement for another day. State your concerns about her safety (condom use) and leave it alone.

it's wonderful that you're concerned about your friend's morality and if she's the kind of friend that you can talk about that stuff with, then go for it. but if she'll get defensive if you bring it up, you might be in for a rough time. this might be something that she'll have to go through to find out things for herself. a lot of young women go through a self-realization stage and part of that is exercising her sexual prowess. it might even make her feel good about herself knowing that more than one guy is interested in her and this is usually due to low self esteem. just be there for her during the aftermath of these situations. it's all anyone can really ask for.

Tell her HIV is not strep throat and it leads to death. Tell her condoms do not stop the virus that causes it because the virus is smaller than standard cracks in condoms. Sperm is to large to pass through the cracks of condoms. Soooooooooo you can stop pregnancy but not death by AIDS.

Your view of sexuality is different. She likes sex for the sake of having sex in the first place. You hold it sacred and dear and to only be shared with some one you feel very strongly for. She see's it as a means to an end and that's to get off and have fun. You may calll her a s-l-u-t, but whatever....

Personally, I have a few friends like this. I wouldnt try and stop her. Shes probably fully aware of what you think, and doesnt want to hear it. Its her decision who she is with, and telling her you think shes a Sl*t isnt going to help. Just tell her if she ever needs to talk with you, your there for her. I confronted a friend once with her crazy behavior and She stopped talking to me. So, I dont think its the best idea to confront people with things they dont want to hear, especially if she is being safe.

Say something but try not to push it. If she gets upset tell her the only reason u said something was becuase u were concerned and love her to death.

You can only express your honest opinion and concerns, only once.

I am assuming that your friend is an adult. There is not much you can do.

You might discretly mention it but don't make too much of an issue.

theres no point saying anything, she is going to do what she is going to do and you voicing your opinions will only make you seem judgmental and she will probably end up resenting your opinion
