I had a similar situation - File a police report immediately, keep track of the emails, and turn it over to the authorities. Many unsuspecting individuals think the email is some kind of safe haven to do as they please without consequence.

If that be the case, this indivdual is misinformed. Do not let this behavior continue. Report it immediately.

you could always report the email to the provider and let them handle it. Just save the emails so that if anything else happen, you can use it as an evidence

You can report it to the email provider you are with (Yahoo, Hotmail etc) or if it's really serious, the police. Keep it in your inbox whatever you do, don't delete the evidence!

dont back down never show fear when someone threatens you but threaten them back if it gets out of controll change e mail and let those who you know you can trust your new e mail

You should report threats of any kind to your local law enforcement department. If you don't get any results, contact the State Police.
