I have a close friend who is Chinese she is turning 31 this month. She has been in this country for three years but has never received a nice gift from her friends here. I would like to get her something thougtfull. She is a frugile person and she doesn't wear jewlery. I have noticed a charm around her neck which she wears when she feels troubled. Any ideas would be greatly appreaceated

I'm in high school, do you think that it is arrogant to just go up to a group of people out of the blue and ask if you can sit with them at lunch or something like that. I know them all and they all like me and I like all them and I've known them for years even though we're not really close friends but I don't know if that's like inviting myself and it's arrogant and I should just forget it. Also they're kind of popular and I'm not exactly popular but most people like me, I'm liked but not popular.

Hi there. My mum turned 60 in July. My Dad and her separated almost 3 years ago as he was having an affair. She is over the worst I think but I know she gets lonely at times. Im looking for people around her own age to chat to, share experiences, and be her friends. So she is not so lonely and has something to look forward to. Are you looking for a friend? Would you be interested in taking the time to chat via e-mail to get to know a new friend. I would really appreciate any volunteers. Ive tried to find chat rooms for her age group so she can get to know people but I cant seem to find any that arent for dating and marriage! Can anyone recommend any? Thanks

After splitting up with my boyfriend of five months, my best friend comforted me and helped me through it all. My best friend just happened to be my ex and my first love, from a few years ago, and we had always said we would maybe try again in the future. So, i thought i had fallen in love with him again, but i had just split up with my boyfriend and kind of didnt know what i wanted. I thought i wanted him though, and he said he would wait for me as long as it took, until i was over my boyfriend. So we started kind of going out but i ended it because i realised i was on the rebound and that i missed my boyfriend like hell. I told my best friend i was leaving him because we were better off as friends but i did and would always love him. I am now back with my boyfriend and have never been happier with him. But my best friend wont talk to me, and hasnt since it ended. I hate that i've lost my best friend over this. Can i mend this in any way?=(

My good friend and I get into fairly large fights every few weeks or so... As in, we won't speak to each other (or if I try to talk about it she refuses to talk to me), and our other friends (we share several friends) end up splitting up so that neither her nor I am alone during the fights. The fights usually last for about a week and a half... Last night another was started and I'm getting a little tired of our on and off friendship. The fights are always over something petty, but we both end up worked up about it. I love spending time with her otherwise , but this is just getting annoying... Any thoughts?

first of all, last year my bestfriend and i got into a fight over a boy! She was always kinda bossy and mean! She is the kinda friend who will ignore you for no reason! well she called me really mean names and we were fighting over the year on and off! This year she told me she wants to be friends again and I have been friends with this boy for awhile and we got really close and we started to go out! i mean he is one of my bestfriends and my boyfriend! Well so me and the girl have been friends & she hates my boyfriends and she tells me to break up with him all the time! all my other friends think i spend 2 much time w/ him & talk 2 him 2 much! But he is like One of my BESTFRIENDS! Okay today 4 no reason i have NO IDEA what i did my friends said "i don't think i can do this anymore! actually i no i can't! sometime i just wish i was on the other side" I'm guessing she doesn't want to be my friend anymore but pleaz help! My Mom says that I can't get my ears pierced until I am 16. That is way too old I think. She also gives me a real hard time about things I want to wear. Are there any other girls who have this problem? What have you told your Mom that helps?

My friends are people i have been friends with since kindergarten. There are five of us, including me. In 6th grade and 7th grade i started making friends with different people and wasn't as close to the people i had known all my life. At the end of 7th, three of them asked me to sit with them and i got very close to them again. The fourth one, has become best friends with one of them and seems worried that i will steal her best friend. She has been a complete ***** over it and i am tired of being pushed around and everyone thinking i cause problems. I'm almost mad enough to get physical with her cause i lost a lot of friends over some lies. My friends won't want to be around us if we don't make up. I want to make it clear to my friends that i don't want to tolerate her ****. What can i do?
