know I asked this earlier but I want as many opinions as possibl

I'm in high school, do you think that it is arrogant to just go up to a group of people out of the blue and ask if you can sit with them at lunch or something like that. I know them all and they all like me and I like all them and I've known them for years even though we're not really close friends but I don't know if that's like inviting myself and it's arrogant and I should just forget it. Also they're kind of popular and I'm not exactly popular but most people like me, I'm liked but not popular.

i don't think that asking to sit "with" them is necessary, maybe just ask if the seat is open or just sit down.

Go for it. No its not arrogant its trying to fit in. Only do it if your find them interesting and would truly like them as friends not just to be in the IN crowd. You probably think your not popular and have just as many friends as they do. Go ahead and try it. What do you have to lose? If it feels uncomfortable after you do it don't do it again. Also be sure you have something to say to break the ice. Since you know these people ask a question about something you have in common. How was the football game? How did you do on the test today. Whatever fits. Just do it. That's how people get their confidence. Good Luck

Sure it's OK.You know each other and you { like it or not} are judged by the company you keep.
Maybe you will find you have a lot in common with some of them Then just maybe you will find a few true friends and you will be As popular as they are.Let me tell you,I have lived a long long long time and I have been there and done that, the best years of your life as your school days.I wrote a poem about mine and my grandchildren have all taken it to school. It has been in many school papers.Smile a lot and laugh even more. You will be surprised how the kids will flock around.Good luck it will work. You are an honest young man with a hell of a lot on your side.Oh yeah.I'am 68 years old,so you know I've been around.Just don't be wild and dumb as I was.Even though I had a million friends.
