After splitting up with my boyfriend of five months, my best friend comforted me and helped me through it all. My best friend just happened to be my ex and my first love, from a few years ago, and we had always said we would maybe try again in the future. So, i thought i had fallen in love with him again, but i had just split up with my boyfriend and kind of didnt know what i wanted. I thought i wanted him though, and he said he would wait for me as long as it took, until i was over my boyfriend. So we started kind of going out but i ended it because i realised i was on the rebound and that i missed my boyfriend like hell. I told my best friend i was leaving him because we were better off as friends but i did and would always love him. I am now back with my boyfriend and have never been happier with him. But my best friend wont talk to me, and hasnt since it ended. I hate that i've lost my best friend over this. Can i mend this in any way?=(

Honestly he just needs time to heal. This is the second time you two have broken up and he's just dealing with his emotions. He obviously still cares about you very much and has always loved you even when you all broke up, or it wouldn't have been that easy for you guys to get together. He said he was willing to wait for you b/c he wanted to make sure you cared for him. I'm a firm believer that you can't really be best friends with a guy b/c either you or the guy will develop feelings and the other person won't be interested. It hurts that you've lost your friend, but that's kinda the consequence. He put himself out there, you accepted, then rejected. He's hurt. He needs time to get over you b/c it's obvious you don't want him. Give him time. I don't think your friendship will ever be the same though.

Time will heal all wounds, we all make mistakes and I am sure your best friend knows, he is just hurt right now. If I were you besides saying your sorry over and over again maybe you could try doing something nice for him like maybe baking him something or buying his favorite band or artist cd. He'll come around just be there when he does!

Give him time, i mean he's gotta get over this heartbreak like you had to do w/ your first bf. Obviously this guy really loved you and you broke his heart(not intentionally). So give him some space and then see if he feels as if you two can be friends again.

Just give him his space for a while and after a while trying talking to him. If he still won't talk to you forget it and don't worry cause he'll find someone else. Trust me. The same thing happened to me.
