How can I cut off contact with a close friend well?

I have a very forced close friend who does not treat me well.She talks about herself alot and ignores me when with other people.Yet when the time comes around when she needs someone to walk home/to school with I am her best bud.
What can I do to cut off contact with her?

You know those aquaintances you have in school who you mumble to and basically just don't hang out much. Do that to her and you guys will split.
