I am doing most of the decorating for my daughters september wedding. She want the atmosphere to be elegant and romantic.
It is an evening cocktail reception. We are using 6-7 ft. ficus trees with tiny white lights as a major percent of the decorations. I'd like stars on the ceiling, or better yet, something called a "night sky" which is a black cloth with stars that is draped across the ceiling.
Anyone have any idea where I can get something like this? Also, has anyone ever had, or been to, an event that uses a light source to project a picture or works or logo onto the dance floor?
I've seen them with the bride and grooms initials. What kind of lighting effects has anyone used that would make this reception one everyone will remember. Im very crafty, so all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

So my mama and i got into a fight. the fight was because she went to pick me up from my basketball game but i had already left with my older brother. He told my mom that he was going to pick me up but is it my fault that she forgot??? I mean come on now she wont help me with my prom stuff or graduation because she says i owe her an apology who apologizes 1st cause the way i see it she owe's me one too.

I have this friend who is v nice to me. If I force her for something like hanging out somewhere if she dsnt wanna come she tries to say No but if i force her she agrees to me. She shares everything with me, the only problem is she dsnt hv much time for me as she is busy all the time with some thing. she talks to me when she wants to and says bye to me when she have some work. this hurts me but its my mistake i always showed her that this dsnt effects me bt it actualy does. I mean I talk to her according to her convienence. Is she using me?? I really dnt know what to do. my boyfriend of 4 years has been e-mailing an old girlfriend. He was married when we started seeing each other and moved downstairs while getting a divorce. This went on for 2 years until she moved out. During this time he spent every minute with me he could but he always went home at night. I found out last year that his wife had moved out 9 months before and he'd never told me. Also I found his profile on yahoo personals. I broke up with him. 2 months later he fought to get me back promising to introduce me to his family, have me over to his house, and make me the "happiest woman alive". He has done all of this and he's bought a house in north carlolina that we are moving to. However this girl from last year has e-mailed him a few times and his response has always been "when can we have lunch". Last week he tried to have her over to his house and made sure I would be working during that time. He has low esteem because he's overweight. Should I let it go or confront him?

There is this girl that I like and I can sense she likes me because we talk on instant messenger alot, we text one another alot. If we dont meet up she gets upset that she didnt get a chance to see me. Recently I asked her to be my date to my formal that I have, she said yes. Me and her decided like a long time ago that we didnt want a relationship with anyone at all at that time. And now I feel that things are changing that I have strong feelings about her bc I like her more than a friend. Whenever something is wrong or if she needed help she calls me. Does she like me a lot? Long story.

The jist of it is that her ex died at home in Oz and she thinks his body should be flown back to the UK for a funeral so that their son can attend. The alternative would be to take thier son over to Oz - on the inlaws expense most likely - for a funeral there.

She's worried that her ex's parents will try to hold onto their grandson if she takes him over there - I can't tell if this is paranoia or a possibility.

There will also be a secular memorial here in the UK.

Basically we broke up three months ago after being on again off again a year and a half. We haven't had any contact. She referred to me as a stalker the other day. I haven't bothered her. She's going in chat and telling them she has a stalker. I met someone else. She's a nice girl and I explained to her what's going on. She understands and said just ignore it, she'll go away. Someone let the cat out of the bag that I'm interested in this other woman. Then the person who let the cat out of the bag said that as soon as that happened she's saying her and her ex of 16 years bought a house together, making up stories. Her ex and her haven't been together in ten years. One minute she's single, the next she's with her fake ex. Why is she doing this? Is she mad about me having someone new I'm interested in? What should I do?

Been divorced (seems like yesterday) 3 years. My kids are in their older teens..and I wish that I could say that relations between my ex and I were good...but we remain at tremendous odds. (We can talk about matters of emergency- or the quick "what time will you be here? " and the like...but, especially college money matters, BAM!) Probably due to the bitterness of a break-up of a long marriage (after struggling through getting him to be successful, and then he leaves for a younger woman whom he had an affair/baby with)...but that's water under the bridge.

My question is this... Is there a good/healthy reason to talk to your kids about how you DID once love their other parent dearly? (For example, when you were young). If it ever comes up it sounds SO fake (even though it wasn't). They know how we are now (they lived through the divorce).

Yet, I know that (in couples that ARE together) it's good for children to see/know their parents love each other.

What do you think?

For singles out there who are not in a relationship - how do you handle being alone when you really need to have some human contact? I'm not just talking sex here, I mean just having someone to cuddle with, make-out, kiss, fall asleep next to, or just get a really big hug when you've had a bad day.....Do others alone find you miss this?? I am contemplating a friends-w-benefits thing, but it always makes me feel cheap and used after.....Any good suggestions out there?
