i am having trouble deciding...

i'm 23. i have an old family friend getting married in her backyard this weekend. she and i aren't very close. i do many things with my family and it seems that this summer is booked with tons of family-related weekends and i want a weekend to get away. so i was thinking of flying to LA to ride some rollercoasters and have a good healthy break. i go to school fulltime and work fulltime. my practicum is high stress (child sex abuse cases) and i need a break soon. my family doesn't realize how much stress i'm under and they will think it's retarded that i'll go to a themepark to have a 'vacation'. should i wait 3 weeks to take a break or just go this weekend? i hate causing my family upset but i also hate catering to people just to avoid conflict; i know i can't make everyone happy anyway. so what should i do?

and felt really guilty for taking away her hapiness. I didn't cheat or anything like that. I just was honest to her and told her that I do not feel anything for her anymore, the feelings I had for her unexpectedly vanished. She was really serious about me and even would say yes if I asked her to marry me. But I didn't want to continue on fooling myself and fooling her if we continued our relationship. I just wanted us to be friends but she refused it (ofcourse she would). She was really lonely after the breakup. It made me feel really guilty. I even wished to God to take away the hapiness in my love life (if ever there is to be one) and give it all to her? Now, it has been 3 years and I keep on thinking that what I wished for came true because I've been very lonely the whole time. You think that God really took it away or is it just Karma?

Look, i don't care if he is green and blue, just why aren't guys interested in us. We are not all ghetto, just as others aren't trashy, wetbacks, or whatever racist terms there are. Just why can't I always find one and i mean past the one night stand. I am a chocolate woman, and i look like and have the bod shape of my avatar, yet i find it so difficult to find a man on my level who is interested. oh and i am med student, i have a double major in psych and pre-men, minor in spanish communications, and i am a avid lover of life and history. I come from an upper-middle class background too. So tell me the reason, the truth and don't sugar coated, on why finding a good man is darn hard?

We met in July of last year, while he was stationed in Fort Hood and he went to Iraq in January 06. We had little time to spend together, just some weekends, phone calls and emails. We are in love thats no doubt, but I am not his wife, yet. I pray that he returns so that we can be married. And to the other person, whit the comment "don't enlist again", that was his choice and I am very proud of him.

I am really attracted to one of my best friends. I have no idea what it would do to our friendship. I think it is better to go out with someone that you dont really know than someone that you are close friends with. It just seems like when good friends go out with one another it doesnt work out. i feel very low because i crave love, throughout my life, ive felt family love, and have had lots and lots of friendships, but i fear that i will never feel that romantic love ever in my life...
even if i have my share of boyfriends in the years to come, i still fear that i will never feel that special love ever, just a whole load of lust and infatuation, nothing more.
