Virtually all climate scientists agree that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming.

Most of the world population agrees (though there is disagreement about the degree of the threat)

Global warming skeptics and deniers on Y!A are unable to come up with an alternative explanation for the acceleration in global warming, or even a decent reason to doubt the scientific consensus. Now they appear to be tampering with Y!A just to create some semblance of credibility.

Are we approaching the day when virtually everyone accepts the reality of AGM and we finally do something about it?

I would like to take this time to thank those who have supported me with their 'thumbs up', 'stars', Votes, emails, and comments on this board.

There is an active attempt by the believers to muzzle me, as I received 15 votes for an answer I posted to a question from a believer. They have accused me of manipulating this vote.

I give you my word that I did not do anything to throw off the vote or affect the outcome in any way. My answer was chosen because of your support.

And I thank you for that.

I mean, all this talk of shrinking poles and the rest of it - personally I can't wait to say - "Hey, it might be December - but I'm gonna wear my shorts to work!!!".
Nature is so cool when we meddle with it.

in the 1970's, many scientists were under the impression that the weather would take a deep plunge, possibly casting us into yet another ice age. the exact opposite happened, because at the time they were not fully aware of how the climate worked. 30 years is not such a long time, how can we be so sure we're right this time?

p.s. i'm not saying we should assume global warming isn't real -- rather, i'm stating we have been wrong in the past. and even with "irrefutable evidence" or evidence that implies the current global warming trend is "very likely" caused by anthropogenic activities, we can't be certain there are unknown factors at work.

why do people keep passing laws with the purpose of prtecting us from global warming? Don't they know that global warming is just a stupid myth?

I know it sounds stupid and farfetchd but since the ice glaciers are melting, would it be possible to create a solar powered freexe ray or a something that could refreeze the melting ice to restore the effects?

that's just 1/3 of a mile per week. Just 18 miles per year if you drive 15,000 miles each year.

Some think this is all that needs to be done to save the world. Just cut back, sacrifice just 0.12% of your life and it will make all the difference in the world.

That's just 1800ft less per week,

Or if you income is $50,000 we're just saying that if you cut back $5 per month you can save the world.

Here's the link given - http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,481085,00.html

Does anyone believe that it will stop there? I don't. First they'll ask for 0.12%, then it will be 1.2% and shortly after that they will be asking for 12%, and even that won't be enough.

IE: hybrid cars, recycling, cutting energy use, etc...
French Fries were boycotted, Mexican restaurants...We're actually in a war with a country who's oil is something we use. We weren't in a war with either France or Mexico when we were asked to boycott those things. I know we're dependant on it but it seems if we were a little more conservative in our use and tried using other energy producing means, we could cut back how much we use.

Why did they omit the fact they were reintroduced because they died off there before?

Would you believe that it would make a difference?

George Bush now accepts it:

"“In recent years, science has deepened our understanding of change and opened new possibilities for confronting it,” Bush said in announcing his proposal. “The United States takes this issue seriously.”"

http://www.planetark.org/dailynewsstory.cfm/newsid/43467/story.htm

China now accepts it:

"Implementing a climate change containment policy may cost a fortune, but the cost will be even higher if we delay. Early action is imperative," Ma said. Not the leader, but he wouldn't be saying that in Xinhua without top level approval.

http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-06/04/content_6196302.htm

US and China plans to address it may still be weak. But deniers here are still claiming that global warming is not man made.

What world leader supports that position?

Is it claimed that they are all "liberals"?

Isn't denial now a fringe belief, like saying we didn't go to the moon?

Every time, Gore or a regional individual says that Global Warming is harming the environment it seems that something strange happens: It either begins to snow, or drop in temperature radically or rain for ever. This happens all the time. It's like God knows what the radicals are saying and in spite changes the weather: FOR REAL this happens much too often for it to be a coincidence. Even the weathermen can’t get the hurricane season down: truly a fifth grader can predict the hurricane season better. What makes Gore's global warming idea so funny is that when ever they have some sort of convention on warming the weather will change the day of the event. Has anyone else noticed
