There are a lot of people here that don't care that people are starving in Africa. They don't care that the majority of the world does not have good hospital care, that many people live with unclean water that is full of bacteria and that they don't have the ability to drink clean water which in turn causes diseases.

They don't care about the fact that many people in the world don't have sewage systems that can keep their water supply clean and that most of the world has no way of taking care of mega tons of garbage disposal and don't have sanitation systems. What these people want to do is divert any possible money that could go to helping people who are in real need and spend it all on global warming.

They want trillions of dollars to go to a problem that may not be a problem and in this way slap on the face all the people who could really use this money to make a better life. These global warming people are the most disgusting people on the planet and I'm surprised more people aren't totally repulsed by the sheer height of their condescending and paternal attitude to all the real problems facing the planet and the real suffering of so many people.

By the way, laws HAVE been passed in many states already including California and New Jersey. Laws HAVE been passed in many Kyoto Protocol countries and they HAVE been passed in the UK. Where have all you crabby blind people been? These laws will have a long term effect on peoples lives and are leading the way for more laws as well as big budgets for global warming. And it's getting worse day by day and right under your noses.

I've never seen such warped people as some of you blind head in the sand people answering this person's question.

I am not in favor of such laws, but I haven't yet seen any laws passed only for the purpose of protecting us from global warming. Laws are passed for other environmental reasons like air quality and conservation of resources but that's nothing new. I'm not trying to be hateful toward you, but maybe you should inform yourself a bit more before posting questions like this?

I don't know of any laws passed specifically to combat global warming, at least not in the U.S. But it is not a myth. You may not agree with the scientists conclusions, but the science is real and pretty convincing that we are having a measurable effect on the climate. Measurable, but not catastrophic. The gloom and doom stories are just political hype.

a) What laws are you talking about?

b) Global warming is not a myth. It's a directly measured effect:

c) The only debatable aspect about global warming is how much humans are contributing to it. Most climate scientists agree that we've caused about 80-90% of the warming over the past 40 years or so:

Please take some time to learn about the science behind global warming.

Here's the thing - I'll take the word of climate scientists over yours. You must have a huge ego to think you understand climate science better than climate scientists.

Global warming is not a myth, however, we are not the cause of it, at all. Science has actually proven that we are not the cause of global warming. 10,000 years ago the Ice Caps started melting at the rate at which it is now melting, al the way from Kansas. Mars Ice caps are also melting at a fast rate. And the water on Mars found in the rocks is proof that it once was covered in water, at least enough for surface water to form. People had to move from Machu Picchu because it was getting too warm. Entire civilizations started killing themselves because they didn't know why it was getting so warm.

^^^PROOF AGAINST MAN-MADE GLOBAL WARMING^^^
Read it Al Gore

Man-made global warming was something made by the liberals in order to try and hurt big business.

It's not a myth, it's proven scientific fact.

This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/home_page/329.php?nid=&id=&pnt=329&lb=hmpg1

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686 and:

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know... Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point. You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

Global warming is there I don't know how you can't notice it. Besides even if it wasn't real even though it obviously is, I wouldn't want smoke in my air.

Global warming is not a myth,,
It is a brilliant and wonderful thing for me !! ( for Ireland)
I don't care if sea levels rise by up to 3 meters.. i don't know anybody from Holland!! most of Ireland will be unaffected by the sea level rise, we will have a warmer climate, and still have plenty of water resources,.,,
