This is an answer contradicting crapbaskets's. GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT NATURAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm tired of our president, and most of the congresmens making the same excuse. First of all, all of the other countries in the world aren't stupid that they are spending billions and billions of dollars to stop global warming. It is true that volcanoes, forest fires, bogs, etc are contributing to GW, but humans are too. Did u know that an average car in United States emits 12000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year and that there are 233 million cars in United States.

What's happening now is not natural. Temperature rises have occurred before; however, if u look at the graphs clearly, you'll see that the temperatures have risen by like 3 degrees, but in like 30000 years. That, of course, is natural; however, if temperatures rise by 1.5 degrees in 50-60 years, you have to understand that that isn't natural. Temperatures are even expected to rise by 8 degrees more by end of this century.

As for the question, you can do a lot of this. I'll list them down so that it is easy to do.
- Educate friends and family
- Recycle
- write to representatives
- Plant native trees
- from now on, buy environmentally friendly appliances
- convince your parents into buying green energy.
- use public transportstion and bicycle more often.
- And if you and your friends are really concerned, get to gather and do projects to help this cause

Groups can:
- you can, as a group, educate people.
- go around your neighborhood and collect money. and
with the money plant trees, etc.
- buy a mechanical lawn mover ( it requires no energy),
and go around mowing people's grass for money. And
let them know what cause the money is going to go
towards.
- write letters and form petitions, and send them to the
your representatives.

And as for the answer below me:
I looked at the evidence you're showing me, and guess what, none of the bums who wrote the articles are climatologists. at most, they are meteriologists. Why don't you go to websites such as:
fightglobalwarming.com
environmentaldefence.org
http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/
These sites are actually ran by hundreds and hundreds of PHD. Climatologists.

Educate yourself on global warming. Don't blindly believe that it's happening or that there's anything we can do about it. The problem is the research supporting global warming is largely supported and funded by pro-environmentalist groups, and the research saying global warming is a lie is largely funded by industrialists. So right now science is up for sale to the highest bidder. That's why there's so much controversy over the whole thing. So if you wanted to do a project, get together with your friends, divide up into two groups, and have one group find as much evidence as possible to prove global warming, then have the other group find as much evidence as possible to disprove global warming. When you're both done, sit down and compare notes. You may be surprised by what you learn.

You can do heaps. Watching an inconvenient truth will help, but if you don't have time for watching dvd's here is a list that came to mind

1. Transport: share transport, take public transport, or go for a walk or ride a bike instead of driving a car on your own all the time
2. Garden wise: plant trees and other plants. preferably native plants because some imported plants may actually be pests in australia. They would be considered a pest because they 'jump the fance' (aka spread from one area to other areas). As an added bonus native wildlife will also be attracted to your backyard.
3. House wise: wash dishes in dishwasher only when the dishwasher is full, use environmentally friendly products in the house and out. Wash most of your clothes at the same time, turn electricity off when you leave the room.

there are many more but if i continue on, the list will be endless.

How about having a contest at your school to see who can create the best website that informs other teens about global warming? Maybe sponsor on one of the PT Conference nights a PowerPoint presentation or skit about global warming? Maybe you guys can just handout flyers at the next outdoor festival or sponsor a booth (should be free for you all). Create a PSA (public service announcement) using the video equipment at your school and put it on the local cable channel or your school's channel.

stop or minimize using products that contain CFCs.
plant trees.
walk if possible, rather than driving a car.

hey, maybe you could rent a DVD of AN Inconvenient Truth: A Global Warning. there are tons of ways to prevent global warming that are cited at the end of the film. pls watch it!

and also, go to www.climatecrisis.net

Sorry dude, I don't believe in the THEORY of Global Warming, and even if I did I couldn't do much. Yet I still am a tree hugger. To be frank, Global Warming has been blown out of proportion for political gain. I would suggest going to a state park and asking to volunteer.

Global warming is a natural cycle. The earth will cool again and then warm again like it has for millions of years. So their is nothing you can do because man made global warming is a hoax.

Think about the results of actions.
Where I live, it is a goal for each teen to have their own car after getting a drivers license at 16, so not getting a license or owning a motorized vehicle would be a start.

there's lots of things that can be done on a personal level:

- recycling - make sure you and everyone around you (at home, at school, at work) uses recycling schemes as much as possible - paper, cans, glass and plastic bottles, cardboard can all be recycled
you can also 'recycle' things you no longer need, such as clothes, furniture, bits and pieces - find your local freecycle group at freecycle.org

- try and use environmentally friendly products - this can include things around the home (encourage your family), clothes, make-up

- you could see if charities or enviro groups around your area are doing things in the community and get involved - you could even do an event to raise awareness or raise money

Always turn off or unplug any electrical appliance in their home if not being used. Then when you go to the store take a bag to carry the purchases home in.Every thing you buy they try to put in a plastic bag, just take your own,That really helps.Give your old clothes to charity or the homeless shelter....
