George Bush now accepts it:
"“In recent years, science has deepened our understanding of change and opened new possibilities for confronting it,” Bush said in announcing his proposal. “The United States takes this issue seriously.”"
http://www.planetark.org/dailynewsstory.cfm/newsid/43467/story.htm
China now accepts it:
"Implementing a climate change containment policy may cost a fortune, but the cost will be even higher if we delay. Early action is imperative," Ma said. Not the leader, but he wouldn't be saying that in Xinhua without top level approval.
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-06/04/content_6196302.htm
US and China plans to address it may still be weak. But deniers here are still claiming that global warming is not man made.
What world leader supports that position?
Is it claimed that they are all "liberals"?
Isn't denial now a fringe belief, like saying we didn't go to the moon?

Tomcat - Your information (I don't know where you got it) is almost all wrong.
There has been slight cooling over the Pole. in Antarctica. Most scientists attribute that to ozone depletion over Antarctica.
http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Newsroom/NewImages/images.php3?img_id=17257
But, as the above data shows the Antarctic Peninsula is warming faster, a matter of some concern.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4228411.stm
The oceans are steadily warming, I have no idea where you get that nonsense that they're cooling.
http://www.oceansalive.org/explore.cfm?subnav=article&contentID=4704
The troposphere is also warming. There were some problems with satellite data, which was confusing the stratosphere and the troposphere, those problems were fixed long ago. Details here:
http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/Image:Satellite_Temperatures_png
Bottom line - the information you state is generally false, except for Central Antarctica.

I'm not aware of any. The only nations not to ratify the Kyoto Protocol were the US and Australia, and the leaders of both countries have acknowledged that humans are the primary cause of global warming.
It would be difficult for the leader of a nation to deny this reality, because they have access to the best science available.
I think it's fair to label global warming denial as a fringe belief at this point.

Now that Bush finally quit lying, I guess that leaves only Mr. Jello among the top leaders of the planet who still base their opinions on Sasquatch and the Bermuda Triangle.
I love the comment about Antarctica. More stuff, direct from a rectum to YOU!!!

When you say "leaders" what you really mean is POLITICIANS. Why do you trust politicians?
When you say Republicans, what you are really saying is POLITICIANS. What difference does it make what party the politician is from?
The real renegades of this century are the ones who question politicians, authority figures, UN experts, religious fanatics, or anyone else trying to shove an ideology down our throats.
Now Bob, I know you are a very conventional guy. A Republican Party man, no doubt. So your conventionality may have a hard time understanding the independent free thinking mind.
Sorry, but if too many people all around the world are pushing an ideology, I start to question it. If all the worlds POLITICIANS are pushing an ideology, I question it even more!!!

Bob, I know you are probably busy computing the temperature increase associated with the last breath you exhaled. But could you please tell me how the oceans could have cooled over the last four years, and why the continent of Antarctica has not shown an increase in temperature over the last several decades and why there is no global warming signature in the troposphere that is comparable to the surface temperature readings. Or are you like the others?, a denier of the facts.
Oh and last, please tell me when does a politician ever tell the truth?

The Senate of the US voted 100 to zero against ratifying the Kyoto Treaty because it was bad but politicians still generally know better than to go against something like global warming becuase they are politicians and not scientists. I personally don't listen to GW Bush for my scientific evidence. He is a liberal in many ways such as letting Kennedy write the education bill and growing government. You leftists should love him. I don't look for a concensus, I look for facts. You may not realize it, but China states that its biggest enemy is the United States. They help North Korea and Iran, which are evil tyrannies and the ignorance of what those countries are trying to do is staggering. Some on the left prefer to bury their heads in the sand. Of course China would favor Kyoto; it hurts us and does nothing to stop them from polluting all they want.

Denying AGW has now become delaying action so they can continue doing what they've been doing for as long as possible. Not even they themselves believe it. They only resort to spreading doubt, and disinformation.

Are you serious, George Bush doesn't accept it, he owns an oil; company, he's not about to accept anything that would not make money. It's just easier to refute it.
