That means to use environmentally safe products.
I have in my hometown.

On another matter, thanks to everyone giving me encouragement of not taking a vacation from Answers. You are truly a bunch of beautiful people. I appreciate your kind words from the bottom of my heart.

This being a busy time of year for Lois and I, I will do what I can to keep you thinking and giggling.

Should international efforts focus on reducing the causes/effects of global warming? Why?

This to me seems more feasable than hydrogen or solar power. Burning alcohol would take minimal changes to engines that can burn gasoline and is inherently cleaner burning. Any CO2 or H20 that is emitted will get reabsorbed when new plants are grown to produce more alchohol. It would be a closed system. No extra carbon will be added to the system this way, as opposed to it being pumed from the ground like it is now.

My question is this. We had the MWP, about 800 years ago, plus/minus, a good global warmup, even melting the Greenland icecap to a significant extent.

I have yet to see anything published on what part of the reported vast and sudden buildup of CO2 is the delayed CO2 from the MWP, and how much longer this delayed CO2 is expected to continue to come up out of the oceans.

Is there anybody who will comment on this, and maybe cite scientific proofs that a significant part of our present CO2 buildup is or is not related to the delayed CO2 release from the MWP, and therefore is not under man's control at all?

Or a proof that the MWP warming is the one that did NOT release CO2, delayed by hundreds of years, like every other one has in the history of many global warming/cooling cycles?

Anyone care to tackle this, with some reliable citations? And traceable papers? And the President of GM is not in my mind a reliable scientist!

The thought is that both are or were not real problems.

But that's completely wrong.

Y2K was an enormous problem, which would have created chaos in many computer systems. It took thousands of programmers many thousands of hours to fix it. The estimated cost to fix it was 500 billion dollars.

The only thing was the programmers were not confident they'd found all the bugs and were cautious about saying that nothing much would happen.

But Y2K was a very real problem.

And so is global warming. Proof here (and many other places):

Meehl, G.A., W.M. Washington, C.A. Ammann, J.M. Arblaster, T.M.L. Wigleym and C. Tebaldi (2004). "Combinations of Natural and Anthropogenic Forcings in Twentieth-Century Climate". Journal of Climate 17: 3721-3727

summarized at:

http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/Image:Climate_Change_Attribution.png

People who say Y2K wasn't a problem are ignorant of the facts. And so are those who say global warming isn't real.

According to Weather Channel climate expert Dr. Heidi Cullen, the annual mean temp of the Earth has been rising .36 degrees Fahrenheit per decade for the last thirty years. However, when there is a very warm day, people who believe in global warming seem to indicate that it was not this warm 10-20 years ago. But even if Dr. Cullen's findings are true, don't they only indicate a very slight difference in the temperature? Meaning, 10-20 years ago you would have a 94.3 degree day instead of the 94.66 degree day you had recently? If you ask me, you cannot reinforce the existance of global warming simply by experiencing a warm day. Do you agree?

If the earth heats up will the 2 polls of the earth weaken resulting in the earth getting farther from the sun, resulting in a cool down of the earth and a strengthen of the earths polls bringing us back close to the sun..and forever repeated...

If everyone in a hot country threw ice cubes or water outside in the warm weather would it cool the earth down by drying up and then raining more than it naturally would?

If global warming is causing these hurricanes, tornadoes, floors and tsunami's will they cut down on global warming due to the death of humans and animals(because we breath in gases and out carbon gases... and all the other ways we use electric and gases)

If the ice caps melt and we get more floods many more plants will grow taking away the carbon and giving oxygen cooling down the earth

If we created a device that would literally change carbon gases into other gases(this is possible) would it be possible to reverse global warming

We've had a problem with mice since 2004. We've caught about 8 since then! However, came downstairs this morning (5.30) and nearly and quite literally nearly had a heart attack. I saw a mouse and it ran behind the cooker! I nearly died. I've got 4 traps down (all with peanut butter in) and poison and they're still roaming around. What more can I do? I don't have a cat, as I've no one to look after one if I ever go away (our neighbours are horrible)

At the moment, they're pretty expensive, but for anyone who hasn't heard, BMW is coming out with their Hydrogen 7:
http://www.bmwworld.com/hydrogen/stragegy.htm. Other car manufacturers will naturally follow in their footsteps.
As Americans, is it our duty to buy hydrogen-powered cars, provided that we can afford it?

By the way, what will these cars cost? I couldn't seem to find info on their price.
