The purpose of your question?
Let me see if I've got you right:
The Republican Party which currently represents a minority of the US population, which in turn is an extremely small minority of the global population is SO powerful that they are keeping the entire rest of the world from solving a global problem? Gee, I'm not a member of any party, but if people make me choose sides, I'm going to side with the ones who you imply are able to solve problems rather than the inept and ineffectual majority that seems to only whine and fret about how long it'll take until somebody saves them.
How hot will it have to be before you go about solving YOUR problems?

To DOM H:
You are so extemely ignorant. Which Party fought to free the slaves? Republicans! Which party fought for Civil rights? Republicans! You should do a little reading on your own before you adopt the views of the liberal media and a few clueless Hollywood morons.
No one has ever said that global warming isn't happening. Intelligent people just have the ability to understand the scientific facts related to the natural cooling and heating cycles of the earth.
Man has no impact on the atmosphere!
Gore is a puppet controlled by a group that will make trillions of dollars from this brainwashing.

Conservatives in America should believe in global warming since it not only helps our liberals preserve the environment, but it is also helping your racist agenda.
http://www.modernhistoryproject.org/mhp/ArticleDisplay.php?Article=CullTheHerd
That is why conservatives in every other country admit to global warming. Julian Huxley's agenda has been eugenics (he doesn't come out and say "white power" but that's what he means.) This is the background to the environmental movement and it's connections to Nazi philosophy - cut and paste both parts of url minus the brackets: (http://american_almanac) and then add (.tripod.com/green.htm) onto browser to get to site (sorry but this is only way to get yahoo! to put site listing on Y!A)
if having trouble, you can check this site which has some of the information above:
http://www.all.org/abac/eugen02.htm
This site will explain why UNESCO doesn't really want to solve the AIDS epidemic in Africa and India (for good reason)
http://www.modernhistoryproject.org/mhp/ArticleDisplay.php?Article=CullTheHerd
Our earth cannot sustain the level of population increases in the Third World. This is where the Left and the Right can meet. We don't have the resources for 6 billion people let alone 9 billion which can result in serious consequences for the environment and for our Mother Earth. Africa can only survive if there is drastic population control. Many African leaders agree with this. The population of China and India are also troublesome.
The amount of time we have to solve this problem now due to global warming and limited resources in energy etc. is staggeringly close to breaking point. Stephan Hawkings has said that we are close to the tipping point. Isn't it about time we listened?

I am freeeeezing in southern Montana...long cool spring with plenty of rain...got a currant crop of great size in..yummy, abbreviated summer, and already in the fall temps approaching freezing...unusually chilly so far.
I am conservative, and I believe we are having a natural global warming time, tho wondering with this season!!
Maybe our Liberal Senator did get legislation passed to bring glaciers back into Montana!!
I have seen so much propaganda having little connection with reality on this issue, panic-mongering, suppression of scientists (those who were suppressed about data and computer programming problems were, I read, recently vindicated at least in part, and Global Warming slowed way way down as a result.) Amazing what having better programs and data does to panics on Global Warming!!
Wonder why dissent has to be stomped on, and still disregarded when it proved at least partially correct.
You might want to blame propagandists, like the Ad Council, which is putting out cleverly falsified ads promoting the idea that there will be pollution and no kids can breathe without an inhaler due to global warming, and that all polar bears will soon be dead, from the heat..
I asked how they survived the warmer weather in the MWP, or before in a previous warming; get no answers. I seriously doubt the polar bears suddenly popped into existence as a completely separate species in the last couple hundred years!
I think it will take evidence from reliable sources, not larcenous politicians who do not live what they talk (see Snopes online about the president's home vs one of the major pushers of GW rhetoric) and heads of major corporations, and a fraction of the scientists with the rest excluded by fiat and political and financial pressure.
I also have serious questions about the rape of the jungles to get billions in Carbon Credits that is not publicized or fought by the scientists; who knows how many potentially useful species have already gone forever under the blades of the big corporation bulldozers?
And who has checked the runoff and fallout from all the pesticides and herbicides and fertilizer being applied to grow oil palms as a monocropping in the former jungles? Or what the spills of palm oil being transported will have on the earth?
I see just too many loose ends, and concealed dealings.
And it is being run a lot by the UN. Given how effectively the UN deals with criminals, and with wars and disputes, and other issues, are they a really believable source of information and processing? They bungle so many projects, and delay others, that I would worry about them handling something as important as the Earth's climate course in the next several years, frankly
May I rephrase your question more suitably? How messed up will things have to get before Liberals realize this is not science, it is big money, political power, and lots of under the table big business money that is helping heat things up??
Plus we are in a natural cycle, and we also know how to cool things down quickly and easily. Proved naturally and by use in the 1950-1975 era, when the panicmongers were hollering about going back to the ice ages.
And I challenge you, look at history, and see how good the last natural heating cycle was. More food, more land, more arts...lot of positives, which came to an end when that warming cycle ended.
And you know, that was just far enough back that we could be getting the natural CO2 from it on the demonstrated 800 year lag!! Do you have any scientifically proven dissention to this?
I will be interested. I think you are grabbing for the wrong problem!! And the wrong solution.

Because it is gradual, global warming goes largely un-noticed.
one day the repercussions will hit us really hard, in a way that cannot deny its effects, then politicians will of course 'jump' on the "global warming" bandwagon, and try to archive a statement they made many years ago, that actually had little or nothing to do with global warming. But it (global warming) will be the flavor of the month, so everyone that ignored, laughed at, or otherwise totally rebuked this issue, will lay claim to having made some sort of vague reference to it, so that they can be on the right side of it. They don't associate the melting of the polar ice caps, thousands of miles away with, the effects of greenhouse gases, with the loss of the rain forest, with the loss of much needed vegetation that supports a certain species, that eats another species that balances nature. These things are to small for busy movers and shakers to conceive in those high powered, money grubbing brains of theirs. But our children will inherit what we leave, and if things keep going like this, they will not even "Inherent The Wind"

maximum persons have found out that guy-made international warming is a farce, so as that they in all likelihood did no longer think of anybody nonetheless replaced into pushing it different than perhaps AlGore. There are far extra pressing themes, like, the place can somebody get a job, or why won't my funds purchase something anymore? playstation : San Francisco is in all likelihood having its coldest summer time ever. Drop on with the aid of, yet do no longer positioned on shorts!

I think everyone acknowledges that global warming is real (well maybe a few flat earthers don't, but pretty much everyone else does). The question is not "are temperatures increasing?" but instead, "how much of the increase is man made?" The correlary questions to this are: How hot will it get if we do nothing? What, if anything, should we do? If we do this or that, how hot will it get as compared to if we do nothing?

The democrats have a habit of looking for opportunities to squander a trillion dollars.
Universal medical care and global warming are the two most available causes.
Remember when they had the war on poverty and ended up with more poverty?
If global warming can be fixed, government will be the least effective way to fix it.

A follow-up report by the IPCC released in April 2007 said the following
Sea level may rise
Some small islands are in danger
Glaciers around the world could melt, causing sea levels to rise while creating water shortages in regions dependent on runoff for fresh water.
Strong hurricanes, droughts, heat waves, wildfires, and other natural disasters may become commonplace in many parts of the world. The growth of deserts may also cause food shortages in many places.
More than a million species face extinction from disappearing habitat, changing ecosystems, and acidifying oceans.
Global warming could lead to large-scale food and water shortages and have catastrophic effects on wildlife.

Probably awhile. Since Chicago had the earliest snow ever recorded, this winter was one of the worst on record, and the south had a spring freeze that ruined the apple crops I doubt many will believe it's really warming.
Democrats however never miss an opportunity to raise taxes, even if they have to buy the science!
