If so, in what way are we challenged and does it matter to you;
or do you simply feel helpless about the whole thing?

In Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring"
She talks about the use of DDT that was often used in spraying as a pesticide. I believe it still is in the third world.
She talks of man's power to destroy nature, and war against nature is war against man.

I only want to know the answer to this to satisfy my own curiosity.

We just moved to an area where we have the option to burn our garbage or take it to the dump. Either way it seems bad for the environment, but is one better than the other? Obviously we wouldn't burn everything, just the stuff that made sense.

I know Americans are not as bad as many people around the world think, but the fact is that America produces (according to wikipedia) 24.3% of global greenhouse gases, even in the per-capita measurement is the major country (i mean, big country, big population) with the highest emissions. i think this numbers are due their life style, a lot of gadgets, many lights in house, big cars with big motors (compared with European or Asiatic models), etc. So, give your opinion about this as an american or a person of some other country...

It is getting to the point where it is too expensive to drive to and from work because of gas. In my area, prices are around $3.30/gallon and going up every day.

How expensive is it going to get before everyday people start to seek alternative fuel?

What do you think about gas prices, the current green revolution, Al Gore, etc..

Just wondering :o)

The theory is that radiation from mobile phones interferes with bees' navigation systems, preventing the famously homeloving species from finding their way back to their hives. Improbable as it may seem, there is now evidence to back this up.

Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) occurs when a hive's inhabitants suddenly disappear, leaving only queens, eggs and a few immature workers, like so many apian Mary Celestes. The vanished bees are never found, but thought to die singly far from home. The parasites, wildlife and other bees that normally raid the honey and pollen left behind when a colony dies, refuse to go anywhere near the abandoned hives.

The alarm was first sounded last autumn, but has now hit half of all American states. The West Coast is thought to have lost 60 per cent of its commercial bee population, with 70 per cent missing on the East Coast.

CCD has since spread to Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece.

What do you think will Happen?

When absolutely NO scientist says that anything humans can or could do will possibly cool the earth, that warming is a 500 year nonstoppable trend?
Examine the literature...all it says is there's more CO2 and that there's warming and that's bad. There's not even consensus that CO2 isnt a result of warming, not the cause!

BUT NO scientist states that CO2 reduction will COOL the PLANET.

WHY then all the gyrations?

Why is it when someone asks a question,or holds a view that differs from the Global Warming crowd that the answers come back rude? And why is it that those who do this do not accept e-mails in return?
