Here is global warming in a nut shell. Humans have been burning vast quantities of fossil fuels for almost 200 years now. Every year burning more of these fossils that where laid down 350 million years ago when plants on land arose and stripped trillions of tons of carbon dioxide out of our atmosphere. Now we are releasing it back faster and faster every year - 50 million years of stored carbon dioxide release back into the air in just a couple of centuries. Those trillions of tons of extra carbon dioxide absorb just the tiniest extra bit of sunlight warming the Earth just enough to make our future lives miserable.

It's amazing how people will answer this thinking thinking they have facts which debunk Global Warming.
The first thing you should know, there are still skeptics out there and they are loud. They spout out a lot of information so here's some of what you should know...
Yes, there was a Medievel Warming Period and a Little Ice Age.
Yes, climate change can be affected by things like varying levels of solar radiation.
Yes, climate change can be affected by massive volcano eruptions. And these things have happened in the past. However... These things do not explain the spike in world-wide climate temperatures since 1850 (around the dawn of the Industrial Revolution). The only thing the majority of the world's scientists and that which is accepted by nearly 200 countries governing bodies all around the globe - is that the exponentially rising C02 levels are having enough of an affect, that it is causing what is known as 'feedback' loops (side effects of the observed warming that, like a domino effect, is causing even more warming, such as reflective ice exposing sun aborbing earth or seas, 10,000 year old permafrost melting releasing ancient trapped methane, etc.).
In any event, C02 appears to be a major green house gas (not minor, it may be a low percentage but what it does is significant) which is causing the warming. Humans can be the only explanation (deforestation and C02 emissions). I recommend you watch Discovery Channel and google this information to learn more, a lot more.

Here is a quote to start with:

"In a report titled "The First Global Revolution" (1991) published by the Club of Rome, a globalist think tank, we find the following statement: "In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill.... All these dangers are caused by human intervention... The real enemy, then, is humanity itself."

The UN is much scarier than any evidence of global warming!

Things you should do:

1. Do a google search on IPCC fourth assessment. Read it thoroughly and pay particular attention to the fact that throughout this report, not one single piece of evidence is offered to support all of the wildly proffered theories and so-called factual statements! I find it interesting that in a scientific report, no support for the proffered and so-called facts is offered as in all peer-reviewed journals. These twits are just expositing as fact, their opinions...and that's all this report is....a collection of opinions. Read MORE than this and get the FACTS for yourself. Now, when you get some facts, check them carefully on how they are presented. Many so-called scientists will report ALL atmospheric carbon as COx (e.g. CO2) and this is an outright lie. Be careful and check your FACTS.

2. Watch the Inconvenient Truth for a less technical, more media oriented view. Then consider the graphs that are presented as cause and effect....NOTE that the main graph the uncle AL shows you shows CO2 increases FOLLOWING the increase n gloval temperature! Ummmm....but doesn't he say that CO2 CAUSES the rise in temperature? Then shouldn't that graph show first the rise in CO2 and THEN the rise in global temperature? Hmmmmm..... More hocuspocus. Like I said before, BE CAREFUL and check your FACTS carefully. THINK don't just jump to a conclusion!

3. Don't think that someone can give you a 5-line summary of global climate change. (this one I agree with)

You see, there is SOME truth in ALL of the answers that the devotees of the New Age Global Warming religion will tell you, but they won't tell you the whole truth, only enough to be true to a point....but it aint true if it aint all true now is it? A half truth is as good as a lie.

There is no Global warming threat, it's political BS.

CO2 levels are a very small percentage of our Earth's atmosphere.
You know what generates and absorbs the greatest percentage of 'greenhouse gas'? THE OCEAN!
The amount of Co2 made by other means is LESS than 1%! The greatest generator of CO2 in that 1% is Volcanos!
The amount left after that is mostly organic life generating Co2 naturally. One of the lowest percentages of CO2 emitters out of what's left of that 1% is human.
What humans make is in the THOUSANDTHS of a percent! How can Gore say that what we produce has ANY effect of the other 99.99%??
Plus, he tries to stigmatize CO2 likes it's man-made. It's completley natural and is abundant in nature and all living things.
How does he explain the fact that the current relative tempature is far below what it was in the past - even before man learned how to use fire? What about the hundreds of years during the medevil times when it was much warmer than it is now?
He never brings up the fact that his charts are aligned to hide the 800 year gap between the CO2 and mean temps on a timeline.
Which would show how CO2 follows temps changes.
Global warming is one of the biggest scams in human history.

Here's something Bush should do - he should annouce that - "Ok, I guess Global Warming is happening. Since we now know it's real, we don't need to spend any more money on grants for research on the subject. As president, I want to pass new legislation to cut-off funding for global warming."
No need to spend money on something that's a 'scientific concensus' right?
Oh wait, all of those 'scientist' would be out of a job!
The whole 'Global Warming' economy would dry up.
It's really that simple. It's an industry. Every year they hyped up the problem with more reckless and exgerated claims just to land more and more funding. No problem = no funding. Problem getting worse = more and more funding.
Now did anyone here know all this.... or Are you all just part of the hype?

By the way - did you know that Al Gore's mansion (10,000 square feet) consumes as much energy as 20 average American homes, and that George W. Bush's home (4,000 square feet) it a model of energy efficiency, taking advantage of nearly every energy saving device there is.

Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation.

Global average air temperature near the Earth's surface rose 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.3 ± 0.32 °F) during the past century. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes, "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations,"[1] which leads to warming of the surface and lower atmosphere by increasing the greenhouse effect. Other phenomena such as solar variation and volcanoes have probably had a relatively small effect.[1] These conclusions have been endorsed by at least 30 scientific societies and academies of science, including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries. The American Association of Petroleum Geologists is the only scientific society that rejects these conclusions,[2][3] and a few individual scientists also disagree with parts of them.[4]

Climate models referenced by the IPCC predict that global surface temperatures are likely to increase by 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) between 1990 and 2100.[1] The range of values reflects the use of differing scenarios of future greenhouse gas emissions as well as uncertainties regarding climate sensitivity. Although most studies focus on the period up to 2100, warming and sea level rise are expected to continue for more than a millennium even if no further greenhouse gases are released after this date.[1] This reflects the long average atmospheric lifetime of carbon dioxide (CO2).

An increase in global temperatures can in turn cause other changes, including sea level rise, and changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation. There may also be increases in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, though it is difficult to connect specific events to global warming. Other consequences may include changes in agricultural yields, glacier retreat, reduced summer streamflows, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.

Remaining scientific uncertainties include the exact degree of climate change expected in the future, especially how changes will vary from region to region around the globe. There is ongoing political and public debate regarding what, if any, action should be taken to reduce or reverse future warming or to adapt to its expected consequences. Most national governments have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol aimed at combating greenhouse gas emissions.

I believe in Climate change. Weather changes like last summer extremely hot weather, even winter are colder. There been increased in wildfires and drought, which been destroy the ecosystem, and cause more extinction of animal and plants. And probably heard about the glacier melting and sea level has been rising because the Carbon dioxide and other gases that have been trapping the sun heat in earth's atmosphere. This problem was caused by burning fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil and clearing forests from humans' and it our responsibility to do something about. It not hoax, for the bush admiration and Fossil Fuel Company have been both denial and toning down climate change (global warming) so won’t seem as bad and there doing for money over well be of people as well as planet. We all have to cooperate in this world effect. Human are consider a dominate race, create machine and change environments, to make house and city and were also have largest population and we power to destroy whatever is in our path. There time when were going to see what wrong we done to earth, and try fix this global problem, for better than doing nothing. I know humans are not perfect and it natural to think of yourself cause it real thing we understand but once and while we need to think what going on around us for world doesn’t center around you. Animal are valuable they keep the balance of life or circle of life, without them, the environment will be danger and which will endanger us. This planet earth has given us so many things like tree that bring the oxygen, a habit for animal and reduce carbon emissions and this planet is alive and belongs to animals as well. Even though we make mistake that why we strive to do be better people. I not trying to converge and change you into something your not, I just like you understand what I and perhaps many other see. 4 stop global warming sites

However, Global Warming has become a religion for the simple minded who blindly follow the pack....

Sad isn't it?
