The theory is that radiation from mobile phones interferes with bees' navigation systems, preventing the famously homeloving species from finding their way back to their hives. Improbable as it may seem, there is now evidence to back this up.

Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) occurs when a hive's inhabitants suddenly disappear, leaving only queens, eggs and a few immature workers, like so many apian Mary Celestes. The vanished bees are never found, but thought to die singly far from home. The parasites, wildlife and other bees that normally raid the honey and pollen left behind when a colony dies, refuse to go anywhere near the abandoned hives.

The alarm was first sounded last autumn, but has now hit half of all American states. The West Coast is thought to have lost 60 per cent of its commercial bee population, with 70 per cent missing on the East Coast.

CCD has since spread to Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece.

What do you think will Happen?

Einstein said... four years left for man. How cool is that. I guess the Mayan calendar, ending in 2012 is pretty much right on the money then.

well, here we go again...."its the end of the WORLD!!!" famous line by the old drunk in the corner of the diner, near the window, in Alfred Hitchcock's, "The Birds."

I have read a bit about this and some botanist teamed up witha physicist in germany and put out a peer-reviewed study that blames the decline in bee population on the spread of microwave cell phone towers. Apparently the signals interfere with the bee's capability to navigate so they get lost trying to go back to the hive and die.

What Einstein didn't take into account, though, was the fact that there are other insects, like lady bugs and butterflies and moths, and many other insect species that also act as pollinators. These insects will merely fill-in for the exiting bees...or we'll get smart and find new frequencies to put out microwave towers on.

Oh, and this isn't a ripoff of anyone....it really is a genuine study.

Cell phones are not causing bees to vanish. That is the same pseudo scientific nonsense that just a few years ago said cell phones give you cancer.

And I never heard of Einstein saying anything about bees. I do know for sure that many crops do not require bees to pollinate. Corn for example does not depend on any insect; it is wind pollinated.

Colony Collapse Disorder? Mary who?Oh this one is getting better by the minute! Global Wobbling pales compared to this conspiracy theory.

I think that's a hoax. It's very unlikely that Einstein ever said such a thing.

you totally ripped that off from what Bill Mahr was talking about last week on his show

It is a rediculous theory that bees are affected by cell phones. Bees will be fine. We will be fine. I think it is a lot of junk science.
