With all this talk in the press, I would be interested to know how much carbon my lifestyle is generating. I'm not entirely convinced that its leading to the destruction of the planet, I'm just interested

Scientists are saying that it will not be too long before the polar ice-caps melts and submerge much of the earth's land. Millions and millions of people will be displaced and this will eventually result in a "survival of the fittest syndrom". But do you think that humans are capable to evolve into sea living mammals?

The Prius has been available worldwide since 2001. I'm told the battery has a life of 150K miles, so it won't be long before this "green" technology becomes so much toxic waste.

Will the Prius and like vehicles cause more problems than they purport to solve?

I have been thinking a little on the matter of recycled sewage as a means of addressing Sydney and Australia's water crisis. Personally, I think that house hold rain water harvesting initatives combined with green powered desalination are the way to go. But to my question.
Many Sydney-siders will remember the cryptosporidium scare in the late 90's. Where water became undrinkable without household boiling and filtration. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but from memory law suits were relatively unsuccessful during this time (why I'm not sure). However, in the case where this were to happen with recycled sewage water, would the government be exposed to a litigation mine-field.
Could such a mishap result in the shutdown of the water recycling plants? Afterall isn't it easier to argue negligence with the emotionally charged fact that you are drinking effluent water?

paper needs material C wood chips, recyled paper,or both, paper needs a paper making machine, this machine can make up 20 feet high ,paper is made from trees.Trees need to be cutted to sent to a paper mill.At the paper mill a machine removes the bark from the wood. Bark is not used to make paper but it is used for other things. Once the bark is removed from the wood it is chopped into very small pieces with the chipper. They could cook wood so that it can be made of paper. Now the soft, slippery paper pulp or slurry is poured into a countainer. The countainer pours the slurry onto a large screen. This is where the water is drained from the paper.Next the paper is pressed flat into two rollers.

Why did we make the first mistake of recognizing any problems there by sending money? Once that happened, Africa focused in on our "emotional save the world groups" and attached a vacume to our non for profits and government in Washington attached a vacume hose to the USA and started the flow of money.
