I am working on a project in which I try to estimate the subsurface lateral flow of water which occurs due to presence of a shallow hardpan in the soil profile at about one meter deep. But I want to determine how permeable the hardpan is an how much water percolates through it to meet the groundwater. Can I do it with the help of a tracer like potassium bromide? If I can how should I take samples and how can i proceed?

I am looking for the best websights to start advertisng the Carbon Offsets I am selling. Also does anyone have any good idea's for designs of the certficates? I want them to look really cool. I was thinking of charging $1 per carbon hour. At an average of 2 driving hours a day they will be about $60 for a month of in a standard Vehicle getting an average of 20 miles to the gallon. Is this a fair price?

I live in the city of Los Angeles, and there use to be this one field where a cute little fox lived. Then one day they developed the land and built a Costco. I've often wondered what happened to that little fox.

Is there an organization that relocates wildlife prior to excavating and land development? These poor animals don't have a voice to say, "I'm over here, take me to a safe place". Are they left to fend for themselves, having to flee to other areas for food and protection.

Does the government/state realize that having these developers ruin our land is causing possible extinction of wildlife and habitat.

When an animal enters into a human community - there is a reaction of; get rid of it. Most of the time they are killed because the powers that be feel the animal is too dangerous. Some of these animals may be agressive - They are wild, and are protecting themselves and/or young ones.

Does anyone know if there is something being done about this?

I have a few vague ideas about why this may be happening - but I have yet to find a straightforward explanation for it in the literature. The GCM models have predicted that warming should be more dramatic around the poles, but again, what would cause this?

Global Warming is a fast growing issue. If something is not done soon we may destroy the very place we call home. What are the ways you would stop this? How and Why?

So some seem to think that we are creating the climate changes by the way we live our lives and everything needs to be modified to protect the environment, others say that the earth controls what happens not us.
I agree with the latter argument as the world has been on a constant cycle since it was created, and since the ice age the earth has heated up on its own and without humans doing it as otherwise the ice would never have melted. The earth therefore is heating up on its own and we can't control the atmosphere or environment and the earth will destroy itself through its own doing not ours. So I say stop taxing us for travelling and stop increasing costs or travel, its all part of evolution and natural development and that can't be changed or stopped.
Whos to say this didn't happen billions of years ago and there was a planet like earth that already existed but was destroyed. And through natural developments this has all started again on earth.

There are so many people on this planet, and we all give off body heat, do you think really obese people give off more heat just by size / body mass? Could this be part of the reason for global warming?

How many people reading this question have some idea of what 'computer modeling' means. This is called a science but how do you think it compares with say Chemistry as a science or engineering.
Is it as "real"?
