Does it seem reasonable that communities need to start raising and saving money/supplies to handle their local populations? It seems likely that there will be a large scale international natural disaster at one point and we will not be able to rely on our national governments support?

So to apply for this internship I'm interested in, I need to write a short essay on an "issues facing state governments." I am particularly interested in writing about an environmental health or occupational health issue facing Florida state government.
